According to the Decree of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine of August, 10, 2020, No. 1024 “On Awarding the Academic Scholarship of Heavenly Hundred Heroes to the Students of Higher Education Institutions in the 2020/2021 Academic Year”, the students who have the best results in studying and are known for their active civic stance will receive the scholarships of the ten youngest Heavenly Hundred Heroes during the academic year.
“The Heavenly Hundred Scholarship is a way to honor the memory of the youngest and the most courageous participants of the Revolution of Dignity, who fought for the future of Ukraine. In total, 43 scholars were chosen. Besides civic, scientific and sport activity, they have to demonstrate high academic achievements - be in top 10% of the academic rating,” the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Serhii Shkarlet said.
Five scholarships were awarded in the following specializations:
- Agricultural Engineering - in honor of the Heavenly Hundred Hero Dmytro Pahora;
- Architecture and Town Planning - in honor of the Heavenly Hundred Hero Oleksandr Plekhanov;
- Software Engineering - in honor of the Heavenly Hundred Hero Serhii Baidovskyi;
- Psychology - in honor of the Heavenly Hundred Hero Yurii Diakovskyi;
- Economics - in honor of the Heavenly Hundred Hero Dmytro Cherniavskyi;
- Geography - in honor of the Heavenly Hundred Hero Ihor Kostenko;
- Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy - in honor of the Heavenly Hundred Hero Vasyl Moisei.
As well as:
- 4 scholarships in Performing Arts, in honor of the Heavenly Hundred Hero Serhii Nihoian;
- 3 scholarships in Military Management (by Types of Armed Forces), in honor of the Heavenly Hundred Hero Ivan Tarasiuk;
- 1 scholarship in Railway Transport, in honor of the Heavenly Hundred Hero Vladyslav Zubenko.
The student of the Faculty of Sports of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Ilona Denysenko will receive the scholarship in Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy for the best academic scores.
Ilona Denysenko is the mentor of the group 201HZ of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” (specialization No. 227 Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy). One of her dreams is to create a good rehabilitation center in her district for the people with disabilities (especially visually impaired people).
“Now, when the health and physical level of Ukrainian population is continuously decreasing, and there are a lot of injured at the Armed Forces Operation in the East of Ukraine, the training of highly qualified specialists in physical therapy and ergotherapy is one of the most important tasks. Thanks to our teachers I learned to think deeper, systemically analyze. Such skills and knowledge in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics are a good start for my growth as a specialist,” said Ilona Denysenko. “National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” actively supports my participation in scientific and practical conferences. Thanks to the support of the university administration, students’ self-government, the students’ union committee, and personal motivation, I didn’t simply participate in many events, but also was their co-organizer. My personal development resulted in me being chosen the Head of the Students’ Professional Bureau of the Faculty of Sports in 2019.”
It is very important for Ilona Denysenko to receive the scholarship. The student said, that continuing the fight for the independence of her nation started by the Heavenly Hundred Heroes, including the Hero of Ukraine Vasyl Moisei, is an honorable duty.
Every higher education institution chose one candidate in each specialization by themselves, the process was held by the highest collegiate body of the students’ self-government.
The amount of the scholarships is determined in the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of December, 28, 2016, No. 1047 “On the Amount of Scholarships in State and Communal Education Institutions, Scientific Establishments”. Monthly, the undergraduate and graduate students will receive 2,480 UAH, the students of higher education institutions of III-IV accreditation levels and of scientific establishments will receive 2,130 UAH, and military students will receive 2,027 UAH. The scholarships will be paid from September, 1, 2020.
