For the second time, a team of students from the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” won the All-Ukrainian Financial Literacy Tournament “KharkivFinCup 2024”, which is held annually as part of the project to improve the level of financial literacy of the Ukrainian population.
Traditionally, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and the NGO “Business Club “Partner” have been the organisers of this large-scale scientific and educational event. The activities of the participants of the national financial literacy project were coordinated by the State Scientific Institution “Institute of education content modernization” of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
For two months, representatives of 131 teams from different regions of Ukraine competed in their ability to demonstrate general competences in the financial literacy theoretical foundations, creativity, critical thinking, creativity, perseverance and effective communication in the team during the preparation of creative works, the ability to lead a discussion, answer questions accurately and reasonably during the defence of reports on the creative works’ topics.
National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” was represented by the team “Polytechnic Financiers”, which consisted of second-fourth year students of speciality 072 Finance, Banking and Insurance Valentyna Babets, Valeriia Olenych, Kateryna Dubrova, Mariia Haidamashko, Yuliia Ivashchenko and Anna Lytvyn.
This year, the future financial professionals successfully presented their paper “Financial Security on the Internet”, in which they shared interesting life hacks on financial literacy. The team was prepared by Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance, Banking and Taxation of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Oksana Vovchenko.
Following the successful completion of three stages of the Second All-Ukrainian Financial Literacy Tournament “KharkivFinCup 2024”, the team “Polytechnic Financiers” was awarded a second degree diploma and a special award – a diploma for the most active participation in the discussion of the participants’ speeches.

For the high level of training of the winning team, the coach Oksana Vovchenko received a personal Citation from the competition organisers.
The members of the team “Polytechnic Financiers” and their mentor, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance, Banking and Taxation of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Oksana Vovchenko express their sincere gratitude to the organisers of the II All-Ukrainian Financial Literacy Tournament “KharkivFinCup 2024” for the implementation of an important educational project at a high level, which united the notion of financial literacy with the young people from different parts of Ukraine.
We sincerely congratulate the victorious team, the coach and the Department of Finance, Banking and Taxation of Poltava Polytechnic. We wish them good health, vitality, and inspiration in raising the level of financial literacy.
It should be recalled that earlier, Polytechnic was awarded by the National Bank of Ukraine for its active participation in Global Money Week.
Recently, future financiers have improved their key professional skills at a branch of JSC “Sense Bank”, a scientist of our university has finished an international internship at the University of South Bohemia, a scientist has improved her financial management skills by taking a training course from TG Consulting, and future professionals have learnt about the ways to counteract money laundering by considering the cases of a banking institution.
