Volunteers of Polytechnic Awarded Diploma for Active Charity Work

On the occasion of the International Volunteer Day, the students-volunteers were awarded diplomas for volunteering activity, for supporting the local initiatives and promoting healthy lifestyle among the youth of our city. The Polytechnic Volunteers Group of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” recently took part in the online festival “I am a volunteer and proud of it!” organized by Poltava Center of Social Services for Families, Children and Youth.

“It is an honor that our initiatives are supported by students of other higher education institutions, and the award for our volunteers at the city level is an indicator of the fact that we are on the right way. Thank you for your personal involvement, readiness to help, to join various initiatives and acts of kindness. May you all be happy, stay positive and energetic!” President of Student Parliament of Poltava Polytechnic Oleksandr Lytvynenko said.

The volunteer group is headed by Nadiia Semerenko, Deputy President of Student Parliament of Poltava Polytechnic for Charity and Military-Patriotic Activity, student of group 301SE of Education and Research Institute of Oil and Gas.

Volunteers of Poltava Polytechnic systematically participate in the annual student charitable dance parties “It is so easy to help”, providing sponsorship for the events, searching for partners, personnel and funds for the charitable goal. They also helped the Armed Forces of Ukraine by sending special equipment for shooting trainings to the military post of the 179th Education and Training Center of Military Communications.

University students annually join the voluntary blood donations for Poltava Regional Blood Station, the All-Ukrainian Movement “From Heart to Heart” organized to collect money for buying medical equipment for children’s hospitals of Poltava, and bought medicine and equipment for Poltava Military Hospital. The students did not miss a traditional annual event, the IV Volunteer Forum “Healthy City is in Our Hands”, popularizing and being committed to the principles of eco-friendly activism, paying a great attention to the development of public health system of our town and the popularization of healthy lifestyle.

“Our students eagerly join the volunteering activities, we gather presents for orphanages, provide charitable help to those who need it.  We hold student round table throughout the academic year, various trainings, meetings with Peace Corps volunteers, and cooperate with regional organizations and local self-government bodies. The participants of our volunteer group successfully studied at the local “Volunteer School” and received appropriate certificates. The participation in projects like those is an additional motivation for the modern youth to change the Ukrainian society. And the change is the most successful if you start with yourself.” Head of the Group Nadiia Semerenko commented.

Congratulations to our volunteers! We are proud of you and wish that you have new achievements!
