The cutting-edge sports facilities of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” hosted the Kettlebell Lifting Championship of Ukraine among students.
Athletes representing 13 regions of our country – Poltava, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia, Sumy, Lviv, Odesa, Ternopil regions – competed for the championship. During the performances, the boys and girls demonstrated excellent physical fitness and high results of hard training. The audience had a great opportunity to cheer for their personal favourites.
The opening ceremony and awarding of the winners was attended by Head of the Poltava Branch of the Committee for Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Yuliia Hordiienko, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Lina Rybalko, Deputy of the Karlivka City Council Andrii Dulenko, Director of the BVS petrol station network Oleksandr Krachko, Deputy Head of the Union of Kettlebell Lifting of Ukraine in the Poltava Region Oleh Kolomiiets, who congratulated the future sports elite of the country on new significant achievements and presented honorary awards to the winners and prize-winners of the Kettlebell Lifting Championship of Ukraine among students.
The tournament began with the traditional salute to the national blue and yellow flag and a Minute of Silence for the defenders and defendresses of Ukraine as well as civilians killed as a result of russia’s full-scale invasion of our country.
During the competition, the teams demonstrated excellent physical fitness, cohesion and a great thirst for victory.
According to the results of the Kettlebell Lifting Championship of Ukraine among students, the top three in the team competition were:
- I place – team from the Poltava region;
- II place – team from the Dnipropetrovsk region;
- III place – team from the Zhytomyr region.
The winners were awarded with diplomas and medals.
Recently, Poltava Polytechnic hosted the WAKO Kickboxing Championship of the Poltava Region in memory of the fallen defender Vitalii Hrytsaienko, the winners of the Open Boxing Championship of the Poltava Region among juniors, youth, women and men were awarded, and a teacher of the Polytechnic entered the TOP-10 best judges according to the rating of the Powerlifting Federation of Ukraine.
