Winners of the Student Essay Competition Awarded

The Student Essay Competition “My University” was held by the Faculty of Humanities of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” to celebrate the 90^th anniversary of the university. The winners were awarded during the plenary meeting of the 1^st International Conference “Current Problems of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies”.

“2020 is a very important year for Poltava Polytechnic – we celebrate the 90^th anniversary of founding one of the leading Ukrainian universities, a powerful education center of Poltava region that has a long history of educational traditions, starting with the Institute of Noble Maidens. Many scientific, educational and cultural events are dedicated to this celebration, including our conference. The teachers of the Faculty of Humanities of Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic dedicated the Student Essay Competition to this event, too. We are very thankful to the students of all the faculties and institutions of Poltava Oil and Gas College and National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” for the creative approach, unique thoughts and excellent level of the English language,” Anna Ageicheva, PhD in Pedagogy, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, commented.

The jury members chose three winners in each nomination, that is among the philology students and the students of non-philological specializations.

The winners among the philology students are:

• Yuliia Hordiievska, first-year student of the Faculty of Humanities of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” (1^st place);
• Anna Reva, third-year student of the Faculty of Humanities of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” (2^nd place);
• Viktoriia Popova, third-year student of the Faculty of Humanities of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” (3^rd place).

The winners among the students of the non-philological specializations are:

• Iryna Vashchenko, second-year student of Oil and Gas Engineering at the Education and Research Institute of Oil and Gas of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” (1^st place);
• Dmytro Marchenko, third-year student of Mining at Poltava Oil and Gas College of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” (2^nd place);
• Tetiana Yalova, first-year student of the Faculty of Sports of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” (3^rd place).

All the participants of the Student Essay Competition were awarded certificates of participation of the 1^st International Conference “Current Problems of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies”, and the winners were given souvenirs with university symbols and sweets.

The winners of the 1^st places, students of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Yuliia Hordiievska and Iryna Vashchenko received the main prize of the competition — certificates for studying at the Foreign Languages Center of our university.
