YOUTH DAY AT POLTAVA POLYTECHNIC

On August 12, 2025, Poltava Polytechnic celebrated International Youth Day, bringing together students, teachers, government officials, and friends of the University. More than 60 active students received awards for their achievements in academics, sports, cultural, and community projects.

On the occasion of International Youth Day, celebrations were held at National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”. Among the guests of honor were Anton Chubenko, Deputy Head of Poltava Regional Military Administration, and Volodymyr Onyshchenko, President of the University, who congratulated the student community on the holiday.

Anton Chubenko noted that Poltava Polytechnic is the undisputed leader in the region’s educational space and one of the best universities in the country, with a strong material and technical base and constantly developing. He also emphasized that the University has come a long way from a construction institute to a modern European-level Polytechnic, and students here gain truly high-quality knowledge. According to him, the University’s President, Volodymyr Onyshchenko, is always in excellent shape and motivates young people to work on themselves and not rest on their laurels.

Volodymyr Onyshchenko expressed his gratitude for the high assessment of the University’s activities and emphasized that the secret of success lies in constant communication with young people, who inspire new achievements. He stressed that even in the difficult conditions of war, Poltava Polytechnic maintains its dynamic development and serves as an example for other educational institutions. The University is among the top 30 best higher education institutions in Ukraine according to the consolidated ranking and among the top 20 in terms of the number of applications submitted for admission in 2025. We are particularly proud that the ranks of the University’s students are increasingly being joined by winners of international competitions and Olympiads, students who are members of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and talented young people from different regions of the country.

Volodymyr Onyshchenko thanked the students for their activity, concern, and desire to realize themselves in Ukraine, emphasizing that each of them raises the University’s rating and prestige. The President of the Polytechnic also stressed that it is important to take care of one's own development, work on rebuilding the Ukrainian state, and support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which give us all the opportunity to study and develop.

Yuliia Vovk, Vice President of the Student Parliament of Poltava Polytechnic, noted that the University has become a “place of strength” for young people, a place of inspiration and unity. She emphasized that despite all the difficulties of the past academic year, the student activists implemented many cultural, educational, and entertainment projects, and most importantly, maintained an atmosphere of support and teamwork. The student emphasized that a true leader is not someone who commands, but someone who leads the team forward. According to her, the slogan of Youth Day 2025 – “Youth is here” – is primarily about young people in Ukraine who want to develop and work for their country.

For their active participation in the University life, significant contributions to cultural, educational, and community initiatives aimed at youth development and the formation of an active student community, and on the occasion of Youth Day, more than 60 students of Poltava Polytechnic were honored with awards. The festive program continued at the University’s innovative venues, where various activities were organized: classes in an interactive multimedia shooting range, volleyball, basketball, soccer, tennis, workout, and an art therapy master class. The day ended with a movie screening at Poltava Polytechnic Student Hub.

International Youth Day at Poltava Polytechnic became a powerful incentive for students to move forward, implement ambitious ideas, and remain an active force shaping the future of Ukraine.
