Art Peace and Solidarity with Ukraine

Art as Solidarity with Ukraine

“Art Peace: A Tribute to Ukraine” is the TRUST artistic strand connecting personal stories, creative works and international cooperation. It provides opportunities for people who have experienced war to make their voices heard through different art forms.

The project encompasses work created during practical sessions, international performances, a documentary and a final installation. Together, these outcomes connect the creative process with shared reflection and wider public dialogue.

Artworks and Shared Images

Activities involve drawing, graphic work, collage, clay, natural and textile materials. Some pieces express individual experiences; others are made collaboratively and explore connection. Selection, preservation and presentation of artistic outcomes form part of the project.

Ukraine’s contribution includes work created during local and international activities. “Floral Collage”, “Ornament of Unity” and textile practices illustrate different connections among materials, symbols and personal stories. University photographic reports document both the process and participants’ creative outcomes.

International Performances

A shared performance brings movement, sound, images, objects and space into a common process. In TRUST’s international programmes, preparation builds on earlier workshops, participants’ encounters and collaborative exploration.

In Rome, theatre and music practices informed the stage work. In Braga, movement and visual creation came together in “Tears in Earth”. In Poltava, “Cranes of Peace and Hope” concluded the practical programme. Different in form, these events share an emphasis on participation and solidarity with Ukraine.

The Documentary and Life Stories

The documentary strand preserves participants’ experiences and presents the project through human stories. The approved application foresees a four-episode film connecting interviews, workshops, creative events and partner experience.

Poltava Polytechnic cooperates with EuroPlural Project on the first episode. Ukrainian material is important in conveying the circumstances of supportive activities, community experience and the meaning of international cooperation.

Documentary work places an individual artwork within the story of its creator and the environment in which it was made. This offers a wider context for artistic outcomes and helps audiences understand experiences of living with the consequences of war.

The Final Installation in Belgium

The final installation is intended to bring together works, images and stories developed through TRUST. The official project website schedules its presentation in Namur for 15–17 June 2027. It is envisaged as a shared European expression of participants’ experiences, memory and solidarity.

Preparing this outcome connects artists, professionals, organisers and participants. Selection and presentation make visible the relationships among local activities, international learning and public artistic spaces, offering an opportunity to share Ukrainian experience in a wider European context.

Artistic Activities and Public Dialogue

Public artistic events open conversations about war experiences and mental health to different audiences. TRUST connects creativity with education, social participation and intercultural exchange, providing a meeting space for people with different professional and personal backgrounds.

Artistic outcomes complement the e-book, education programme and information resources. Together, they help retain project experience, support community discussion and encourage further cooperation among mental health, educational and cultural institutions.
