The Department of Industrial Engineering and Mechatronics trains specialists in three specialities:

Industrial engineering (bachelor, master, Doctor of Philosophy)

Motor transport (bachelor, master)

Applied mechanics (bachelor)

The main directions of scientific activity of the Department are theoretical substantiation and creation of means of mechanization of manual labor in construction, namely, plastering stations, small-sized plastering units, vertical-plunger mortar pumps with mechanical and hydraulic drive; development and implementation of vibration forming machines for precast concrete enterprises; mathematical modelling, dynamics of lifting and transport, construction, earthmoving and road machinery and equipment.

The department independently trains highly qualified personnel. Thus, since 1985, there has been a postgraduate course in the specialty 05.05.02 "Machines for the production of building materials and structures", and since 1995, under the leadership of Honored Worker of Higher Education of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Onyshchenko O. G., a specialized academic council for the defense of PhD theses in this and in the specialty 05.05.04 "Machines for earthmoving and road works" has been operating. During the period of the council's activity, about 20 PhD theses were defended here, including the works of specialists who are currently working as teachers of various departments

The department has two research units: the Branch Research Laboratory for Mechanization of Manual Labour in Construction (abbreviated as SRLMLC) founded by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor O.Onyshchenko and the Design Bureau "Vibrotechnics" founded by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor K. Olekhnovych. The existence of these subdivisions is due to the fruitful work of the two respective scientific schools.

Scientific school "Creation of theoretical bases for calculation, design and implementation of effective means of complex mechanisation of finishing works in construction" was founded by Honoured Worker of Higher Education of Ukraine, Honoured Worker of the University, Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology for 2012, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Oleksandr Hryhorovych Onyshchenko.

National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" admits citizens of Ukraine, foreigners and stateless persons who have a complete secondary education.

Applicants wishing to enter the specialities 133 "Industrial Engineering" and 274 "Motor Transport" must submit an application for admission to the university, indicating the desired speciality and form of study.

The details of the admission conditions and the list of required documents can be found at the Admission Committee of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" or on the page "Admission" of the university's official website, available at https://nupp.edu.ua/page/vstup.html

The topic of the internship abroad is chosen in such a way that it is relevant to the improvement of teaching activities.

Internships usually last from a few weeks to six months or a year, which allows to gain good practical experience both in a foreign university and in companies or international organisations.

The value of such internships abroad also lies in the fact that the work experience gained there will be a very strong argument for improving and updating the educational programme, curricula, and work programmes of academic disciplines.

In 2022, Anatolii Kryvorot successfully completed the training course "Mechanical Engineering for the Educational Process" organized by ISMA University (Latvia, Riga) from 27 June 2022 to 25 July 2022. The internship program consisted of 6 ECTS credits (180 hours), and he defended his work on the topic "Modern electronic control systems for cars and power plants and methods of their diagnostics".

In 2021, Yevhen Vasyliev and Oleksii Vasyliev completed an internship abroad on the topic "SOFT SKILLS DEVELOPMENT IN TEACHING PROFESSIONAL TRAINING", organised by the IIASC Foundation and West Finland College, Huittinen (01.10.2021 - 12.11.2021) in the amount of 180 hours (6 ECTS credits).

In 2019, Oleksandr Orysenko and Mykola Nesterenko underwent an international internship in Poland (Wyższa Szkoła Społeczno-Gospodarcza, Przeworsk.

In March 2020, Mykola Nesterenko also visited Tallinn University of Technology to get acquainted with the research of the Faculty of Energy.

In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine No. 755 of 27.06.2012 on sending for study and internship in leading foreign higher education institutions within the framework of the state program of undergraduate and postgraduate education and internships for researchers and scientific and pedagogical staff in leading higher education institutions and research institutions abroad, postgraduate students A. I. and V. A. Kolienko were sent to study at the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden.
