Department of Urban Planning and Architecture

Staff members of the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture are participants and winners of numerous architectural and urban planning competitions, authors of a large number of research works, including concepts of sustainable development of the urban environment. First of all, here we should mention the winning project of the closed architectural blitz competition for ideas to define an innovative concept for the organization of public space and improvement of the "Peremoga" park (Senior Lecturer Andrii Koniuk, Associate Professor Alisa Zauralska, Senior Lecturer Pavlo Vasiliev, Associate Professor Olha Tyshkevych, Senior Lecturer Oleksandr Obidnyi).

It should also be emphasized that the staff members are involved in the development of general and zoning plans of settlements, certification of  monuments of architecture and development of historical and architectural references, in particular, in 2022, 11 references for architectural objects of the city of Poltava were developed for the Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office (Professor, Doctor of Science (Architecture) Vadim Vadimov, Senior Lecturer Andrii Koniuk, Senior Lecturer Tetiana Savchenko).

The staff the department have also been involved in the process of improving the quality of the university campus space since 2018 and are members of various working groups regarding the spatial development of the campus the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” (Professor, Doctor of Science (Architecture) Vadim Vadimov, Associate Professor Oleksandr Savchenko, Senior Lecturer Andrii Koniuk, Senior Lecturer Oleksandr Obidnyi, Senior Lecturer Pavlo Vasyliev).

The department prepares students of higher education at three levels of higher education:

  • at the first (bachelor's) level of higher education in program subject area / speciality 191 "Archtecture and town planning" in the educational bachelor's training program "Archtecture and town planning" (the term of study is 4 years).
