Brief description of the program
This program is based on modern environmental technologies for environmental protection and environmental safety.
The main focus of the program is on theories and methods of natural and technical sciences, methods of environmental assessment, principles of developing new and improving existing environmental protection technologies, rules for applying the current legislative and regulatory framework.
The main learning outcomes are: awareness of the methods of modeling systems and processes of technogenic and environmental safety, theoretical, field and laboratory research, qualitative and quantitative chemical, physical, physicochemical, biological, microbiological methods of designing environmental protection systems and technologies.
Accordingly, the program focuses on professional components: methods of modeling systems and processes of technogenic and environmental safety; integration of theoretical, field and laboratory research using qualitative and quantitative chemical, physical, physicochemical, medical and biological methods and techniques; methods of designing systems and technologies for environmental protection.
Advantages of the program
- The result of studying under the program is mastering the ability to select and design modern environmental technologies for environmental protection (atmospheric environment, water bodies and systems, soils, forestry, nature reserves, human habitat) and ensuring environmental safety;
- The acquired skills are tested during internships in management institutions and industrial enterprises, as part of participation in national and international competitions of student research papers; as part of participation in the development and implementation of regional, national and international environmental projects and programs;
- A wide range of main places of work: state and scientific organizations, industrial enterprises, environmental inspections, laboratories of industrial enterprises and scientific institutions;
- After completing the program, further professional or scientific careers are possible in the following areas: environmental protection technologies, ecology, oil and gas engineering and technology, earth sciences, biotechnology and bioengineering, aquatic bioresources and aquaculture, heat and power, hydropower.
- Specialists trained under this program are able to perform professional work in the following areas: engineering; subsoil and resource use; land use; water management; forestry; biotechnology; hydrogeology and hydraulic engineering; water supply and sewerage; state environmental control and supervision; and nature conservation.
