International cooperation of Department of Building Structures

The teachers of the department actively participate in International scientific and scientific-practical conferences, publish articles based on the results of scientific research in foreign collections of International scientific-metric bases.

The participation of the department's teachers in symposia and congresses has become traditional. In particular, from June 14 to 16, 2021 in Lisbon, in the International fib (International Federation of Structural Concrete) Symposium Concrete Structures: New Trends for Eco-Efficiency and Performance, together with scientists and civil engineers from 52 countries of the world, the staff of the department took part Andrii Pavlikov, Olha Harkava, Nataliya Pinchuk, Yulia Usenko and Bohdan Barilyak on the topic "Determination of the crack formation moment in expanded clay concrete members during their biaxial deformation". Olha Harkava made a presentation report on behalf of the team.

In November 2020, scientists of the department under the leadership of the head of the department A.M. Pavlikov took part in the International Symposium on Reinforced Concrete in China (Shanghai), which was attended by scientists from over 40 countries. Its participants discussed urgent problems in the construction industry, in particular, in the design, manufacture and construction of reinforced concrete structures.

Postgraduate students of the Department of Building Structures in 2020, under the guidance of academic supervisors, participated online in the International fib PhD Symposium in Paris.

Graduate students Usenko Yuliya, Usenko Dmytro, Kuznetsova Iryna and Barylyak Bohdan performed under the guidance of A.M. Pavlikov, O.O. Dovzhenko, V.V. Pogribny, O.V. Harkava. S.M. Mykytenko also joined the discussions of scientific problems. and Hasenko A.V. It was a very important experience on the way to a successful scientific career of graduate students.

Lecturers of the Department participate in International scientific, scientific and practical conferences, publish articles on the results of scientific research in foreign collections that are part of the International Science Metrics Database.

Associate Professor Olha Harkava in September 26-28, 2019 participated in the International fib Symposium on Conceptual Design of Structures in Madrid, organized by the International Concrete Federation (fib) in collaboration with the Spanish Construction Association (ACHE).

Poster presentation on the topic «Highly constructed precast flat slab frame structural system of buildings and research of its slabs»

Olha Harkava presented at the Symposium the results of the scientific work of the team of authors of the Department of Reinforced Concrete and Masonry Structures and Strength of Materials ScD, Professor A.M. Pavlikov, Ph.D. O.V. Hakarkava and postgraduate students B.A. Baryliak and Yu.O. Prykhodko.

In the paper, the reinforced concrete flat slab frame structural system for the construction of affordable housing is considered and analysed. Features of work and calculation of precast slabs of overlapping in the composition of reinforced concrete frame building are highlighted. Problems in the design of the frame are considered in order to increase its reliability.

The Symposium created the best conditions for communication, discussion of new ideas and exchange of experience of scientists and manufacturers of the construction industry.

The symposium was attended by 160 scientists from 30 countries. 4 key lectures were delivered by leading experts in the field of construction and architecture. Increasing practical design and construction skills were facilitated by interesting workshops aimed at the widest adoption of computer, cloud and 3D printing technologies in the construction industry.

In May 2019, Associate Professors Olha Harkava and Natalia Pinchuk visited the Symposium 2019 CONCRETE: Innovations in Materials, Design and Structures, held in Krakow, Poland.

Associate Professor of the Department of Reinforced Concrete and Masonry Structures and Strength of Materials Natalia Pinchuk participated in the Erasmus + Staff Mobility for Teaching program in June 2018, Poznan University of Technology (Poznanska Politechnika), Poznan, Poland.

According to the mobility program, Pinchuk N.M. gave 8 hours of lectures for university students. The language of lectures was English. The main themes were «Concrete and masonry structures and their role in construction», «Materials for concrete structures and their properties», «Reinforcement for RC structures», «Properties of reinforced concrete», «Limit state design of RC structures».
