International cooperation of the Ukrainian Studies, Culture and Documentation

The Department of Ukrainian Studies, Culture and Documentation actively expands international scholarly activities. In particular, in 2015-2018 some 40 publications were published in foreign publications, lecturers attended more than 60 international conferences, including 100 abroad abroad (Poland, Moldova, Germany).

On November 28-30, 2018, in the framework of the "Trans.History" project in Kishinev, an international seminar for teachers from Moldova, Ukraine and Germany "Connecting Moldovan students with 20th Century Jewish History - and with their neighbors" was held. The organizers of the event were the international educational organization Centropa and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova

More than 200 interviews with Jews who lived in the twentieth century were taken by Centropa's staff in different countries of Europe, about the fate of their families in that difficult time. On the basis of memoirs and photographs, several dozens of educational films were arranged by interviewers. The project "Trans.History" is devoted to the development of this material, provides methodological assistance to teachers, organizes seminars, exhibitions and other educational activities.

More than 40 teachers and representatives of civil society organizations, including Candidate of Historical Sciences O. Vitrinska, took part in the seminar in Kishinev.

The seminar was conducted at the expense of grants from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) mission in Moldova and the international educational organization Centropa.

O. Vitrinska is involved in a number of grant projects: a teacher won a travel grant for a trip and participated in the International Workshop for Teachers from Ukraine, Moldova, Poland and Germany "Commparative Perspectives on the commemoration of the 20th Century Jewish History", Mannheim, Germany, September 8-11, 2017 Elena Volodymyrivna delivered a speech on the theme: "Formal forms of studying history in PoltNTU". O. Vitrinska received a travel-grant for a trip and participation in the International Conference "Jews in the Soviet Bloc in the Age of Stalinism: the National Policy of the USSR", October 19-20, 2017, Lublin, Poland (the Lublin Catholic University of the Pope John Paul II), where he made a presentation on "Anti-Jewish agitation and propaganda in the first decade of Soviet power in Ukraine." Scientific and pedagogical workers of the department actively publish in the editions included in scientific-metric databases, such as Scopus, Web of Science Core Collection's. Only 2 articles from Scopus were published during 2017-2018 and 3 articles in the Web of Science Core Collection's.
