International cooperation is one of the priority areas of development of the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering and Technology.
The Department of Oil and Gas Engineering and Technology provides training for foreign students, including in a foreign language (English). In recent years, students from Algeria, Angola, Azerbaijan, Cameroon, China, Egypt, Ghana, India, Iraq, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Libya, Namibia, Nigeria, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Sudan, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Vietnam, Vietnam, and other countries have studied in the specialty 185 "Oil and Gas Engineering and Technology".
The academic staff of the department has published in foreign professional journals and publications included in international scientific and technical journals, including SCOPUS.
The work is ongoing to improve the quality of international academic mobility. Poltava Polytechnic, in particular, the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering and Technology, actively cooperates with foreign higher education institutions.
In May, 2018, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Iryna Lartseva visited University of Oradea (Oradea, Romania), Faculty of Energy Engineering and Industrial Management, Department of Energy Engineering within the Erasmus+ program (Staff training mobility within the Erasmus program).
As part of the mobility project, she got acquainted with the structure of the university, the laboratory facilities of the faculty and the department, and the educational and pedagogical approaches.
The mobility program envisages an experience exchange between the two parties, so from 14.05 to 24.05, delegates from Oradea University - Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Mr. Marcel Rožka and Associate Professor of Energy Engineering Ms. Kodruta Bendea visited PoltNTU.
On April 10 - 12, 2018, they participated in the main event East Meets West, the main slogan of which is "Whether you are a student or a scientist, whether you come from the west or the east, we are all part of the oil and gas industry family, and this idea is the basis for the Congress".
The SPE student members had a great opportunity to gain useful skills for future international conferences.
In May 2018, a new project was launched - a webinar with AUT (Amirkabir University of Technology) and IF SPE Student Chapter. Students have the opportunity to learn about the latest trends in the global oil and gas industry.
On May 7, 2018, the II International Scientific and Practical Congress of Young Scientists "Prospects for the Development of Oil and Gas Technologies" was held at the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas of the PoltNTU.
Participants from Ukraine, the USA, Egypt, Cameroon, Angola, and Ghana presented reports on the development of oil and gas technologies. In addition to the main topic, theses on environmental safety at industrial facilities and the importance of English as an international language of communication in the oil and gas industry were also highlighted. The delegates of the congress represented various institutions and companies, in particular: Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas of PoltNTU; Poltava Oil and Gas College of PoltNTU; Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas; LLC "NTP "Burova Technika" and others.
The event was held in a friendly atmosphere. Most of the abstracts were presented in English. Some reports were also presented in French.
On September 28, 2018, an agreement was signed between PoltNTU and Kyiv City Organization of Oil and Gas Employers. The agreement provides for the implementation of a training program for the oil and gas industry at PoltNTU. The new training program is unique for Ukraine and uses the methods of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (Canada).
The department implements cooperation agreements with international partners of PoltNTU, and this year the students of the department, studying for a master's degree in Oil and Gas Engineering and Technology 185, had the opportunity to study at European universities.
