Students actively participate in the university championship in bowling, football tournaments. In winter students together with teachers involved in active sports, skating, skiing, snowboarding and tubing at Ski complex "Sorochin Yar."
Students involved in patriotic activities: laying flowers to memorial plaques, Parade of Embroidery veloprobizi dedicated on May 9, etc.

Student of the department annually visit the National Bank of Ukraine in Kiev, which is a long tradition that started with the first years of the creation of the Department of Finance and Banking of her head, and now rector of the University, Professor V.O. Onishchenko. He always emphasizes that the practical component is important in preparing future professionals. That's why leading professional teaching subjects such as "banking system", "treasury", "budget management", "tax system" and other practical exercises accompanied by the relevant financial institutions.
Students of the department confirm their originality and skill and athletic dosihnennyam: 2 November 8, 2015 in Spain was held the World Cup in kickboxing Unified World Championships 2015, in which represented Ukraine Ashot Khachaturyan and won a brilliant victory.
The department engages in research work of students of finance and economics. In particular, the department is constantly working scientific student group, the work which involved students of financial and economic department and almost all teachers. In the years 2009-2015 the group equity totaled an average of 40-45 students majoring in "Finance, Banking and Insurance", "Financial and Economic Security Management" 4-6 courses. Circle areas of research students are very broad. Research group at its meetings examines contemporary issues of finance companies, financial institutions and the region. Some of the problems are the basis for research in diploma works of graduates, which increases the level of training of higher qualification.
Masters of " Finance, Banking and Insurance" to the Day of the banker annually organized scientific-practical round table discussions with the heads of banks to discuss the state of the banking system. Active participation in the round table hosted representatives of banks.
In recent years, students of the department participate in Allukrainian Student Olympiad for the prize of JSCB "Ukrsotsbank" by remote testing mode "on-line". Control over the implementation testing and determination of winners is carried out by representatives of the bank. Also, every year students of specialty "Finance" and "Banking" and participating in the round of Ukrainian Student Olympiad disciplines, the winners of which are involved in the following rounds of competition. In particular, M. Kanaryk in the second stage of Ukrainian Student Olympiad on discipline "Insurance" at the National University State Tax Service of Ukraine took the first place, Oksom TV in the second stage of Ukrainian Student Olympiad on discipline "Financial Management" in Lutsk National Technical University received a diploma IV degree, and T. Timchenko in the second stage of the Ukrainian student competition in the specialty "Finance and credit" in KNEU im.V.Hetmana took third place.
First place in the National competition of student research papers on "Finance, money circulation and credit", which took place 19-21 March 2014 at the National University State Tax Service of Ukraine (Irpin) won the student of the specialty "Finance and Credit" Bondarevska Olga.
The first place in the All-Ukrainian contest of student research papers in the field of "Financial and Economic Security Management" held on March 22, 2018 at the Kharkov Semen Kuznetsk National University of Economics was acquired by Gavrilenko O.
Each year a certain number of diploma and master's works are performed by order of regional enterprises and local authorities and government. Their defense is conducted in the presence of customers or senior staff at the Finance Department of the Poltava Regional State Administration, State Financial Inspection in Poltava region and the Academic Council PoltNTU.
