The TRUST E-book
A central TRUST educational result is an e-book bringing together approaches to art therapy in the context of war, displacement and psychosocial support. Its development combines expertise from six countries with work on shared learning content.
The English edition is entitled “Building Peace Through Art: A European Art-Therapy Approach to Mental Health in Conflict Settings”. The 122-page publication is available as a PDF on the official project website.
It is intended for mental health professionals, educators and trainers, artists, carers and organisations supporting people affected by war. Its educational purpose is connected with attention to lived experience, cultural context and cooperation among different professional settings.
The Publication’s Main Themes
The first section considers art therapy foundations, professional approaches and work with people affected by war and displacement.
The second explores Ukraine’s context, ethical principles, cultural sensitivity and different participant groups.
The third addresses education, inclusion, professional learning and responsible engagement with digital technology.
The fourth considers art therapy’s professional development, its place in support systems and European cooperation.
Educational Value
The e-book provides a shared reference for further learning, professional discussion and local initiatives. Educators can use its themes in preparing future professionals; practitioners can reflect on creative approaches; and organisations can consider cooperation across education, culture and support services.
Attention to Ukraine’s context is particularly important. Engagement with experiences of war requires an understanding of people’s circumstances, cultural memory, displacement and social relationships. The Ukrainian university’s participation helps keep these concerns present in educational content development.
Free digital access broadens engagement with project resources. The publication complements TRUST’s practical programmes, while activity reports show how different forms of creative work are used with particular groups and in different settings.

International Discussion of the Results
On 8 October 2026, Poltava Polytechnic staff and students joined an international event in Luxembourg online. It explored art, music and support following traumatic experiences, including TRUST developments, practical approaches and work on the handbook.
Discussion of educational content was complemented by professional examples involving music and clay. The event broadened the university community’s engagement with international experience and the potential use of project results in education and practice.
Exchange around the e-book connects a written resource with continuing professional discussion. Such meetings provide opportunities to ask questions, compare approaches and consider the relevance of resources to different institutions and communities.
