National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" admits citizens of Ukraine, foreigners, as well as stateless persons who legally reside in Ukraine, have the appropriate educational (qualification) level and expressed their desire to get higher education.
We have students from Turkmenistan, Angola, Algeria, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Syria, Tunisia, Morocco, India, and others. These students are taught in English.
The university's Preparatory Department prepares foreign citizens for admission to Ukrainian higher education institutions in engineering, technical and economic specialties.
The University provides dormitory accommodation for foreign students.
Admission to the Bachelor's degree programs is carried out in the following specialties: Oil and Gas Engineering and Technology, Earth Sciences (Geology) and Mining.
The Department of Oil and Gas Engineering and Technologies has a modern training base, which includes: a research and production laboratory of washing fluids; a laboratory of oil, gas and gas condensate reservoir physics; a laboratory of washing fluids; a laboratory testing ground; a life safety room; a foreign language room; a specialized multimedia room; a mineral museum.
The department has implemented modern computer technologies. A laboratory of 3D modeling and 3D design in the oil and gas industry and a laboratory of 3D visualization and oil and gas engineering were created, which are equipped with computers for students, teachers and graduate students to work on educational and scientific work. These classrooms are connected to the university network, which allows access to the Internet. Computer classroom of the laboratory of 3D modeling and 3D design in the oil and gas industry, equipped with licensed Schlumberger software packages: Petrel Geology & Modeling, Eclipse and Techlog.
The scientific potential of the departments is based on the inventions and scientific works of the teachers. The modern technological base of oil and gas enterprises of the Eastern Ukrainian oil and gas region is used by the graduating departments for laboratory classes and technological practices for students.
In fact, all students are involved in research work. On the basis of integrated curricula, students of the faculty additionally have the opportunity to obtain a second higher education in economics in parallel, starting from the 4th year of study or after graduation, in 1.5-2 years. In parallel with their studies, students of the faculty also have the opportunity to obtain working professions in more than 20 oil and gas professions. Graduates of the faculty are in great demand in the labor market.
OPPORTUNITIES AND PROSPECTS OFFERED BY THESE SPECIALTIES
Poltava is located in the Dnipro-Donetsk basin of Ukraine, which currently produces, transports and processes up to 80% of oil and gas. The region also includes large parts of Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions, where about 8 million Ukrainian citizens live.
The main exploration, drilling, production, transportation and processing enterprises are located in this area, where graduates can work. After obtaining a bachelor's degree, in addition to working in production, graduates can continue their studies at our university to obtain a master's degree. The faculty best graduates, who have deep knowledge and abilities for scientific work, after obtaining a master's degree, have the opportunity to enter postgraduate studies to obtain a PhD and doctorate in engineering.
