Almost 100 modern computers from world-famous brands have been installed in the new training centers of Poltava Polytechnic. The university has purchased equipment at its own expense, developed interior design on the principle of “open office” and renovated the premises.

Rector of Poltava Polytechnic, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko presented the devices with which training centers are equipped, and explained the importance of investing in quality educational process as well as leisure of student youth.

“Universities with effective management and far-sighted development strategy, which includes Poltava Polytechnic, create the most modern conditions for future professionals.

Within the precincts of Poltava Polytechnic, students always remain the main priority. They are the leading driver of any positive changes and initiatives as well. We are also aware of our responsibility to provide quality European education to young people who have chosen our educational institution.

A young person in the modern information society should be guided by its main trends and be, after graduation, competitive in the Ukrainian labor market. There will be no time for retraining in production conditions; companies are interested in professionals and those who want to develop and do not stand still. Demands in the labor market are increasing every day and the list of competencies that graduates must have is expanding. For today digital skills and digitalization stand in the first place. So the task of universities is to prepare professionals and keep up with all the updates. Therefore, the university has created conditions where future graduates immediately receive the necessary practical knowledge and work on modern equipment. Our far-sighted plans are being realized within real cases!

Having analyzed the financial capacity, a few months ago the university administration made a unanimous decision to invest in development and direct a certain amount of money to create the most modern training centers at Poltava Polytechnic. These are funds earned by the university and tuition fees from contract students.

First of all, the educational interests of students of IT specialties, future specialists in the fields of “Computer Science” and “Computer Engineering”, who simply need to be on the crest of innovation, were taken into account. After all, to prepare a cool IT specialist, one should navigate the brands of well-known companies and study high-tech cases of future employers.

I firmly believe that workstations with the latest software will serve students and lecturers in performing tasks within individual disciplines, courses or group projects.

I can’t help but address with the warm words the constant creator of new centers, a man who gave many years to the university – Honored Worker of the University, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Architecture and Town Planning – Andrii Koniuk. In my opinion, our team managed to create a modern ergonomic space on the principle of an open office for youth of Poltava Polytechnic, so studying here is comfortable and pleasant!” – commented Volodymyr Onyshchenko.

The “HP” Training Center is equipped with 24 monoblocks from the well-known company Hewlett Packard.

Another training center was equipped with 24 monoblocks from the world-famous brand founded by the Chinese Academy of Sciences – “LENOVO”.

The “ASUS” Training Center is equipped with 24 computers with software from an international manufacturer of the world's best motherboards, PCs, monitors, video cards and routers.

The “DELL” training center is equipped with equipment from an American company selected by the National Bank, Ukrzaliznytsia and the CEC (Central Election Commission) to create their own digital infrastructure.

Kseniia Verhal, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Deputy Director of the Poltava Polytechnic Scientific and Research Institute of Information Technology and Robotics, and Liudmyla Bylym, newly elected President of the Student Parliament, noted the importance and scale of innovations in the dynamic development of classical European university – the leader in higher education in Poltava region.

“In the near future we will use innovation centers for group and individual classes, project activities of future IT professionals. We have a lot of grand plans that we will be able to successfully implement here!” – the scientist emphasized. Polytechnic students will be able to learn different programming languages and master a range of disciplines – “Algorithm Theory”, “Introduction to the specialty”, “Algorithmization and procedural programming”, “Object-oriented programming”, “Databases”, “Web programming and Web Design”, “Modern Programming Languages”, “Information Security Technologies”, “Operating Systems”, “Distributed Computing Systems and Cloud Technologies”, “Computer Networks”, “Programming Languages for Data Analysis”, “Technologies on NET platform”, etc.

“The portrait of a modern professional is formed in the process of one’s constant study, tireless work on oneself and professional growth, which is impossible without creating a favorable educational environment. The youth of Poltava Polytechnic was incredibly lucky to study at one of the best universities in the Poltava region and Ukraine, borrowing the experience of the best specialists. The students' self-government plans to use the excellent material and technical base of the university, newly opened laboratories, and training centers to implement joint educational, scientific, artistic, socio-cultural initiatives,” – said the head of the Student Parliament Liudmyla Bylym.

The team of Poltava Polytechnic in e-sports, which has repeatedly won the championship of all-Ukrainian and regional sports tournaments, will train in the renovated innovation laboratory on the basis of the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Robotics. A few years ago, a similar location was opened in the most modern sports building of the university, but during this time the technology has been updated. The modernized laboratory consists of 12 workplaces equipped with modern gaming computers and chairs as well as high-speed Internet.

Lecturers and students will also be able to use the computer training centers during extracurricular activities. Measures to update and modernize the material and technical base of Poltava Polytechnic will continue with the opening of new locations along with training and research laboratories.

Recently, the rector of the Polytechnic and representatives of the Student Parliament checked the readiness of educational facilities to return of students from distance learning:

Earlier, the first Technology and Innovation Support Center in Poltava Region was opened at the Polytechnic, and DTEK Oil&Gas opened an innovative location at the Poltava Polytechnic with a recreational area and solar batteries.
