Despite the difficult challenges related to the introduction of martial law and active military actions on the territory of Ukraine, National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” continues to actively develop and strengthen the fruitful scientific and educational cooperation with leading foreign universities, international educational institutions and organisations.
In particular, in 2023-2024, 35 new cooperation agreements were signed with leading universities from 15 European countries within the Erasmus+ programme alone.
Academic mobility programmes for students of three levels of higher education, Bachelor’s, Master’s and Postgraduate studies, are actively developing at Poltava Polytechnic. In the last 3 semesters alone, spring and autumn semesters of calendar year 2023 and January-April 2024, 29 scientific and pedagogical workers as well as 140 students of Poltava Polytechnic took part in various mobility programmes.
In particular, 29 students and 2 teachers took part in youth exchanges and trainings under the Erasmus+ programme, which are study programmes that last from 5 to 21 days and are fully funded by the EU, that is, the participants of such programmes do not invest their own money. The European Commission has called Erasmus+ the most successful EU educational programme as well as an important tool for cooperation between universities and students across Europe.
However, the most interesting are the Erasmus+ credit academic mobility programmes, which are an opportunity to acquire relevant knowledge and skills at a partner university in one of the EU countries for 1-3 semesters without interrupting the study in Ukraine.
It is also important to inform students of Poltava Polytechnic about the exchange programmes and scholarships available to the students of a multidisciplinary classical university, and the most interesting thing is to get the information first hand. That is why, on 14 May, 2024, an information session “Exchange Programmes in EU Countries: Scholarships, Grants, Opportunities” was held by the International Relations Department and the Department of Educational Process, Accreditation and Licensing of our university. The interesting information event was dedicated to the promotion of credit academic mobility programmes and youth exchanges under the Erasmus+ programme.
