Almost 200 Graduates of Different Years Congratulate Polytechnic to the Anniversary

On December 17, National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” held an online meetings of graduates dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the university. Scientists, architects, constructions engineers, representatives of the top-management of leading oil and gas companies shared their memories from the student years.

Within the celebration of the 90th anniversary of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”celebrated on the state level the traditional meeting of graduates from different years changed its format. Everyone could send their congratulations as videos to the university e-mail during the month.

Due to the lockdown, the event took place online, and the organizers invited scientists, architects, construction engineers, representatives of the top-management of leading oil and gas companies, representatives of local self-government bodies and business structures to the conversarion about their student years.

Successful graduates are the reason for the university to be proud and respectable among leading Ukrainian and European higher education institutions. The university has trained almost 50,000 high-qualified specialists over the 90 years.

The moderator of the meeting, graduate of 2011, PhD in Economics, Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Affairs of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Svitlana Sivitska greeted the graduates of the glorious university from various parts of Ukraine on behalf of the academic staff and Rector of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko (graduate of 1993!).

“The 90th anniversary of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” is an impressive event that starts a new, innovative stage in the development of the higher education institution of the European level. In 2019, the university successfully transformed into a multi-field higher education institution of classical type and got a new name, National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.  As of today, its structure includes eighth subdivisions, and the university territory is an example of a moder international-level campus with comfortable educational and social spaces,” Svitlana Sivitska emphasized.

A brief historical excursion on the route from Poltava Institute of Noble Maidens to National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” was presented by the Mentor of Nadiia Kocherha National Museum of University History, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of Ukrainian Studies, Culture and Documentation Department Liudmyla Cherednyk. According to the scientist, it was the atmosphere of the noble education and high proficiency of the representatives of the noble people of that time that created the possibility to consolidate educational traditions and innovations into a powerful union of science, business, government and education in the future.

The virtual tour around university classrooms, scientific laboratories opened in close cooperation with business, sport infrastructure objects was held by directors and deans of university subdivisions, Doctor of Economics, Director of Education and Research Institute of Architecture, Construction and Land Management Hryhorii Sharyi, Doctor of Economics, Director of Education and Research Institute of Finance, Economics and Management Iryna Chernysh, Director of Poltava Oil and Gas College of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Liubov Shumska, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", Mentor of Education and Research Institute of Information Technology and Mechanotronics Bohdan Korobko. PhD of Pedagogy, Dean of Faculty of Humanities Anna Ageicheva and PhD of Pedagogy, Dean of Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Nataliia Beseda.

Doctor of Engineering, Professor, Head of Department of Constructions from Reinforced Concrete and Stone and the Strength of Materials Andrii Pavlikov and Doctor of Engineering, Head of Architecture and Town Planning Department Oleksandr Semko were also welcomed to greetings. They congratulated Polytechnic on behalf of the university graduates of 1973 and 1980.

“I am happy to be present at such a meeting, since it’s a great chance to meet each other, despite the rather unusual new format.  For many of us university is not simply history and traditions, it’s our life.  The participation of our post-graduates in the European symposiums in Poland, Spain and China is a great example of the joined efforts of scientists and practitioners, successful implementation of the results of teachers’ and students’ hard work. I am proud of the university I gave my best years to. I am happy to see the changes that happen almost every day, and I am sure I will be proud of its future. Congratulations to everyone! May you stay healthy and inspired,” Andrii Pavlikov said in his speech.

“I am sharing memories now, and I have goosebumps, because while teaching our students, I shared the warmth of my heart with them.  At the annual graduate meetings, I feel proud for our students and graduates becoming real professionals in their fields and working for their country both in Ukraine and abroad. The history of the Department of Heat and Gas Supply, Ventilation and Heat Power Engineering has many pages of positivity and scientific achievements. We are waiting for you in the modern laboratories, and we will be glad to hold tours around the campus and the sport infrastructure,” PhD of Engineering, Professor, Head of Department of Heat and Gas Supply, Ventilation and Heat Power Engineering of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Yurii Holik commented.

Academic staff of Poltava Polytechnic joined the congratulations, including PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Marketing Department Andrii Skrylnyk, Director of Foreign Students Department Viktor Virchenko, Doctor of Engineering, Head of Automatics, Electronics and Telecommunications Department Oleksandr Shefer, PhD in Engineering, Professor of Department of Metal, Wood and Plastic Constructions Oleksandr Shkurupii and Senior Lecturer of Architecture and Town Planning Department Andrii Koniuk; university graduate of 1976 Volodymyr Fedorenko, university graduate Tetiana Koltsova.

A lot of pleasant and warm words were given to the university and its academic staff, as every graduate has their memories of the wonderful student youth and the sleepless nights with course projects and papers.
