On February 9, the Poltava Art Museum (Art Gallery) named after Mykola Yaroshenko hosted the presentation of the lyrical collection "My War" by Artem Loik, a graduate of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", head of the University's Center for Culture and Student Creativity, a talent show star.
The lyrical collection consists of poems and songs written after the outbreak of full-scale war, covered with reflections and inner experiences of the author. It also includes a photo album with memorable moments of the tragic year. A call to resistance, introspection, the search for a true national identity and a conscious "coming back home" are the main themes that the author reveals. The author of the collection's cover was Artem Sosnin, a student of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas. The publication was printed in Poltava.
"I thank God that I have a way out – my way out is here. I turned everything that happened to me into poems, difficult poems, like our present.
I know that many people here are already familiar with my work. I am very pleased that today my friends and relatives, teachers as well as teachers from my school, the rector of my university came to the presentation of the collection. It is very valuable to me. Everyone here are close ones. Thank you all for coming.
I would also like to thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for allowing us to hear the canceled air raid warning today.
I often repeat that everyone has their place of strength. My place of strength is my home university. There, for the first time, I was supported like never before. I am grateful to the rector of Poltava Polytechnic Volodymyr Oleksandrovych, teachers, dean, thank you for being there when I really needed it. Everyone has such a place of strength, you just have to find it," – thanked the audience Artem Loik.
The event took place in compliance with all safety conditions, air raids did not prevent the citizens of Poltava from attending the event. During the evening, Artem Loik captured the hearts of listeners with his patriotic poems, and together with the participant of the talent show ("The Voice", "X-factor") Abiie, in a duet, gave the audience a joint creative project with students of the Polytechnic "Liutuie" ("Raging") and other songs.
"I am proud of the fact that you chose Poltava Polytechnic to study at the time. It is extremely nice that after many years you call your alma mater a place of strength – it's cool. From the first day of the war, Artem and I have done a lot of good things together. I saw those eyes and I remember when Artem came and said: "I want to be useful." Together we created the Volunteer Headquarters and implemented many ideas together.
Today, I am proud to state that the rector of the Poltava Polytechnic has an adviser on youth policy. Usually, the rector's advisors are gray-haired, experienced people. The first adviser was my father. Today, the rector's advisor is Artem Loik, who broke all stereotypes and showed all young people how to change.
You are a strong person, because only strong people know how to openly talk about their changes and transformations. You are a contemporary of Ukraine, but your creativity is the future. Yes, we remember the past, but today everything is changing and you are changing the world around you. Keep creating, keep reading, keep writing, because in your poems there is life, the modern history of Ukraine. We believe in our Victory. Glory to Ukraine!" – congratulated Artem Loik, rector of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.
Recently, at the Polytechnic, MCIP experts presented books that inspire the creation of a new national idea.
