On the territory of the campus of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" and in the Poltava College of Oil and Gas every week for almost two months there are teams of English paramedics to help relieve family doctors and advise Poltava residents, including IDPs. The special cooperation program is supported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

Nurse Abi and family doctor Emily arrived in Ukraine almost a month and a half ago and changed the team of their colleagues. In the United Kingdom, they work in hospitals in Northern England, but have experience in Somalia, Syria, Sudan and Sri Lanka.

"Sometimes there are a lot of patients during the day, sometimes there is a shift, when the situation is opposite. We deal with a variety of problems, mainly with chronic diseases. The main problem of the region is a very noticeable one – cardiovascular diseases. It is very good that Ukrainians have good access to medical services, we note the professionalism of Ukrainian colleagues," – said Dr. Emily.

Nurse Abi is delighted with Ukraine, in particular with Poltava, and would like to travel as a tourist next time, to visit interesting places.

We will remind you that for the IDPs sheltered by the Poltava polytechnic, the world humanitarian organization World Central Kitchen delivers hot lunches.
