Cheerleaders of Polytechnic Become Winners of the Championship of Ukraine for the Second Time

Students of Poltava Polytechnic Kseniia Kolomiiets, Yuliia Radchenko, Yuliia Tybertsa, Yuliia Saienko and Yelyzaveta Nikulina became gold winners of the XVII Championship of Ukraine in Cheerleading.

Cheerleaders of Polytechnic Become Winners of the Championship of Ukraine for the Second Time

The Youth Palace of Sports in Zaporizhzhia hosted the XVII Championship of Ukraine in Cheerleading on March, 9-10. Sport enthusiasts from 52 sport clubs of 11 regions of Ukraine competed for awards in the nominations “Cheerleading” (group combinations) and “Cheerdance” (hip-hop, dance), Due to the lockdown, the competition was only held among adult participants. The performances of participating teams were held without viewers, following all the necessary anti-epidemic measures, including express tests for the dancers, trainers and judges.

Head of Zaporizhzhia Oblast Administration Olena Zhuk, Member of Parliament, Ex-Minister of Family, Youth and Sports Yurii Pavlenko and regional deputies took part in the opening ceremony of the XVII Championship of Ukraine in Cheerleading. According to Head of Zaporizhzhia Oblast Administration Olena Zhuk, Zaporizhzhia region has not yet seen such a large-scale and well-prepared competition.

Poltava oblast was represented by a team among the members of which there are five students of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”: Master of Sports of Ukraine, student of group 201FM Kseniia Kolomiiets, Master of Sports of Ukraine, student of group 401HF Yuliia Radchenko, Candidate to Master of Sports of Ukraine, student of group 301EO Yuliia Tybertsa, student of group 102HS Yuliia Saiienko and student of group 101HS Yelyzaveta Nikulina. The dancers are trained by Master of Sports of Ukraine, PhD in Physical Education and Sports, Head of Physical Training Department of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Tetiana Synytsia.

The team won the gold medal in the nomination “hip-hop” for their team performance. Poltava Polytechnic students made their contribution into this well-deserved sport victory that became the result of many years of hard work.

“Our team’s performance was generally successful, because we spent a lot of time and put a lot of efforts into training and preparation to make every move and every nuance perfect. Participation in large-scale sport events, championships of such a high level is an additional positive motivation for the dancers, and the fold awards will complement Poltava Polytechnic’s collection of medals in our sports hall of fame. New training sessions, sport ambitions and victories lie ahead! We are happy to join writing the glorious history of our higher education institution!” Coach, Master of Sports of Ukraine, PhD in Physical Education and Sports, Head of Physical Training Department Tetiana Synytsia commented.

“Congratulations to our team for the victory at such a high-level contest! The Championship of Ukraine in Cheerleading was my debut performance in the sport career. I am thankful to our coach for the incredible feelings and the faith in me, since I managed to prove to myself that I was able to join the spot community of Poltava Polytechnic in such a short period of training. Thank you for the awesome atmosphere, it was cool! More victories and achievements await us!” student of group 101HS Yelyzaveta Nikulina said.

Seventeen of the best cheerleaders of the All-Ukrainian Cheerleading Federation from six regions of Ukraine were awarded the title of the Master of Sports of Ukraine.

At the end of last year, cheerleaders of Polytechnic also became winners at the Championship of Ukraine.
