City Council officials receive Certificates of Professional Development

On October 8, Poltava Mayor Oleksandr Mamai and Rector of Poltava Polytechnic Volodymyr Onyshchenko presented officials of the Executive Committee of the Poltava City Council with Certificates of Professional Development.

27 employees of the Executive Committee of the Poltava City Council during 13-24 September, 2021 were developing their skills in special short-term programs based on professional preferences. Advanced training courses were conducted by scientific and pedagogical staff of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.

“It is gratifying that the agreement on cooperation between the City Council and Poltava Polytechnic, signed in spring this year, works effectively. In particular, we successfully implemented a project enhancing the skills of the City Council Executive Committee staff. Training took place in modern conditions, and employees combined the performance of their functional responsibilities with training. The staff of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law faithfully fulfilled their obligations, and the team of coaches worked well. It is delightful that the City Council encourages the professional development of its team and I wish to become a model for other colleagues throughout Ukraine. I am convinced that the next joint projects of the City Council and the Polytechnic will be no less successful, and we will use gained knowledge and skills for the benefit of the Poltava community,” – congratulated the rector, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.

Teams of coaches from the Department of Public Governance, Administration and Law, the Department of Motor Roads, Geodesy, Land Management and Rural Buildings and the Department of the Ukrainian Studies, Culture and Documentation trained City Council employees in four thematic programs.

Lecturers of the Department of Public Governance, Administration and Law within the program “Prevention of Corruption” increased listeners’ level of professional competence in legal and organizational principles of corruption prevention, detection and cessation of its manifestations, elimination of consequences of corruption, helped them form skills in combating and preventing corruption as an integral part of the reforming process of the public administration system of Ukraine, etc.

Legal and organizational principles of ensuring and applying gender equality, detection and termination of discrimination on the grounds of sex, its manifestations, elimination of consequences, knowledge of the law, ways to improve the implementation of gender approaches in professional activities were studied with the program “Gender Equality”.

Lecturers of the Department of the Ukrainian Studies, Culture and Documentation within the program “Management Documentation” helped to update and deepen participants’ knowledge about the features and specifics of electronic document management as well as electronic offices, and to overcome psychological barriers in the process of innovation.

Under the program “Features of Spatial Development of territorial communities” implemented by lecturers of the Department of Motor Roads, Geodesy, Land Management and Rural Buildings, hearers increased their knowledge on modern scientific aspects of planning the development of territorial communities for practical implementation, development of urban planning documentation at the local level, analysis of the socio-economic essence of land relations and land management system, the formation of a strategy for territorial development of communities.

The process of professional development is currently underway for the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of Poltava City Council, Poltava Department of Land Resources and Land Cadastre, Department of Registration, Department of Capital Construction of Poltava City Executive Committee, and Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Executive Committee of Poltava City Council.
