Danish developers of the game "Politics of Nature" invite to workshops on philosophy

PoN (Politics of Nature) is a board game that introduces an alternative view of reality and teaches to find compromises as well as make common democratic decisions. Throughout all PoN rounds, participants gradually build an ideal planet that reflects the real world. Each stage is a new combination of identification, representation, reflection, prioritization, individual and group ideology, formulation of offers and decision-making.

PoN was created by Jakob Raffn and Frederik Lassen, who were inspired by the works of French philosopher, anthropologist and sociologist Bruno Latour. The creators of the game hold game sessions in various parts of the world, including Denmark, the Netherlands, Brazil and South Africa.

During the PoN game, participants explore, test, and complement political processes that are completely different from today's ones. At the same time, they are looking for the necessary actors and adding them to their world, as well as looking for answers to the question: What do these actors need? Are they interdependent? Who can be sacrificed? And should it be done at all?

After joining the program, participants will:

  • analyze philosophical works and sort them out in "simple language";
  • attend workshops and lectures of Danish specialists in philosophy on the embodiment, perception and understanding of different worlds and democratic processes;
  • get acquainted with the concept of "Nature Policy" and its practical use;
  • improve argumentation skills and reach a compromise when making collective decisions;
  • create their own version of the game and join the network of the first PoN ambassadors in Ukraine.

The program will take place in Kyiv from February 11 to 13. To participate, one must speak English at a high level.

The application deadline is January 23. The Ukrainian-Danish Youth Home provides lunches for all participants, as well as accommodation, meals and travel for those who come from other cities. All candidates (male and female) will receive a letter on the results of the selection by January 28.
