Department of Education and Science of Poltava Region State Administration Awards a Student and Teacher of Polytechnic

On February 28, V. H. Korolenko Poltava School No. 10 hosted the awarding of the 3d (regional) round winners of Petro Yatsyk International Competition for the Ukrainian Language Adepts.

The Diploma of the Department of Education and Science of Poltava Regional State Administration has been given to the 3d-year Faculty of Humanities of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” student Iryna Lobko for taking the 3d place at the regional round of the 20th Petro Yatsyk International Competition for the Ukrainian Language Adepts.

For the efficient work with students at the 3d (regional) round of the 20th Petro Yatsyk International Competition for the Ukrainian Language Adepts, candidate of philological science, associate professor at the Department of the Ukrainian Studies, Culture and Document Science of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Liudmyla Derevyanko has been awarded too. This is not the first time for them to become the winners of linguistic-literature competitions.

“I have been taking part in Petro Yatsyk International Competition for the Ukrainian Language Adepts since the second year at university. To participate in this competition, one would need not only deep knowledge of the language, but also the ability to form personal meaningful statements to write an essay. Last year I was among the three winners too. These achievements motivate and inspire me to reach new creative goals. Besides the diplomas, I am given interesting books of Ukrainian writers, where new ideas to think about can be found,” said Iryna Lobko about the participation in the competition.

According to the student, participation in Ukrainian and international competitions and preparation for them allowed her to deepen her knowledge, get an interesting experience, meet people who love the Ukrainian language.

The winners and their teachers were congratulated by Olga Kovalenko, the Ukrainian language and literature methodologist, the head of the Department of Humanities and Arts of M. V. Ostrohrads’kyi Poltava Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education; Mykola Kul’chyns’kyi, the head of Poltava Regional Union of Taras Shevchenko Ukrainian Union “Prosvita”; Halyna Vovchenko, a poetess from Poltava. They all acknowledged the participants’ education and practical preparation level.

The academic staff and students of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” wish the student and the teacher new successes and bright victories!
