Every Saturday, from January 29 to February 26, in "Diia. Bisiness Poltava", teenagers are preparing for adult financial life on the course "PRO Money: Financial Literacy for Schoolchildren". The course consists of 8 educational modules. The aim of the course is to prepare teenagers for adult financial life, develop the confidence of schoolchildren, teach them to save money and plan expenses.
During the month, teenagers will learn to manage their finances, competently distribute and multiply money, together with top speakers, including Doctor of Economics, Professor, Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" Iryna Chernysh.
The course consists of eight educational modules:
- "What is money and why is it needed?"
- "Personal finances: How can an adolescent increase income?"
- "How do you plan to have enough for everyone and everything?"
- "How to talk about money and not quarrel?"
- "Banking system: junior cards, bank in the phone, electronic money"
- "The Art of Investing: life hacks for teens"
- Game-simulation "Living Capital".
- "Cyber literacy: security tools in a digitalized society."
For the course, scientists of the Department of Finance, Banking and Taxation have developed an educational module "What is money and why is it needed?". The task of the first module is to form the correct attitude of students to money.
"During the module, together with students we found out what money is and what its value is; why it is not enough sometimes and where teenagers can earn; why taxes are needed and how money "moves". Financial literacy is a very important component of modern education, since it is the development of skills to earn, plan, achieve financial well-being and reasonably treat money. Generation Z and Generation Alpha dictate new approaches to education and this is a great experience of such communication. I shared the achievements of our powerful scientific school of the Department of Finance, Banking and Taxation in an easy and accessible way. I think that children can now be "agents of changes" and teach their friends, parents, grandparents financial knowledge and skills to make informed decisions. I highly recommend responsible parents to pay attention to this training course," – commented Professor Iryna Chernysh.
Registration for the training course is on the website Diia.Bisness Poltava.
Earlier, lecturers of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation of the Faculty of Humanities joined the scientific practice of schoolchildren of 6-9 forms, and the All-Ukrainian Youth Center created a Telegram bot that teaches students safe employment in 15 minutes.
