“ECSITE 2024”: Vice-Rector of Poltava Polytechnic presents the University’s achievements at the European Conference of Science Centres and Museums of Science

Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Work of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Olena Stepova presented the achievements of the university at the European Conference of Science Centres and Museums “ECSITE 2024” in Slovenia.

The Ukrainian delegation, headed by the President of the National Centre for Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician Stanislav Dovhyi, included representatives of the National Centre for Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the First State Museum of Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Lviv OpenLab, which comprehensively use international communication to inform the world community about the development of Ukrainian education and science in the context of a full-scale invasion.

The delegation from Ukraine was represented by Deputy Director for Operations of the National Centre of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Olena Kvachevska, Deputy Director of the National Centre of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for the Development of Science Centres and International Strategic Projects Vasyl Dunets, Director of the Museum of Science Mariia Dubrova, Operations Manager Anna Makarova, managers of the Museum of Science’s areas and interpreters, as well as Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Work of Poltava Polytechnic, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Olena Stepova.

The scientific and educational achievements of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” at the international level were presented by Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Work Olena Stepova at the European Conference of Science Centres and Museums “ECSITE 2024” (Slovenia).

As part of the conference, representatives of the Ukrainian delegation presented to the participants and organisers of the event a comprehensive programme Shaping a Better Future Together of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, which involves the launch of interactive exhibition spaces with the involvement of educational laboratories in the western and central regions of Ukraine.

The participation of Ukrainian representatives aroused great professional interest among the participants and organisers of the event, as evidenced by the great attention of visitors to the Ukrainian stand.

The conference participants shared their own experience of scientific work in the extremely difficult conditions of full-scale russian aggression, as well as projects in the scientific and educational field that may be of interest to foreign partners.

During the conference, Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Work of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Olena Stepova attended a number of workshops where she together with foreign scientists considered examples of introducing discussion games in the educational process and the activity of interactive Science Museums, focusing on the effective practical cases of the Science Museum of National Centre “Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine” in Poltava Polytechnic.

“I am sincerely grateful for the invaluable practical experience in implementing the latest trends in the innovative activities of the Museum of Science of National Centre “Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine” in Poltava Polytechnic, which operates thanks to the full support of the President of National Centre “Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine”, Academician Stanislav Dovhyi and the President of Poltava Territorial Branch of Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko. We are open to fruitful scientific and educational cooperation and constructive dialogue with our European colleagues, and we highly appreciate their authoritative opinion about the dynamic development of our university,” – commented Olena Stepova.

In total, the event, organised by the Kersnikova Institute, which deals with cultural and non-governmental communications, brought together about 1000 participants from more than 50 countries to share their vast practical experience and their own developments with European colleagues. During a number of meetings and events, experts actively learn the latest educational and scientific practices as well as establish a constructive dialogue between representatives of the academic community, scientists from powerful educational institutions, and specialised institutions from around the world.

The European Conference of Science Centres and Museums “ECSITE 2024” had more than 75 sessions, which demonstrated the wide possibilities for the development of artificial intelligence, travelling exhibitions, and interactive projects.

Recently, Polytechnic took part in an all-Ukrainian forum dedicated to the future of Ukrainian education, Polytechnic scientists won the “Poltava Innovation Day” festival of innovators, and Vice-Rector of Poltava Polytechnic took part in a meeting of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on the complex transformation of higher education.
