The Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhii Shkarlet commented on the peculiarities of the admission campaign in 2022 live on the program "Breakfast with 1 + 1".

"There will be an external independent evaluation (ZNO), but its format will be changed. The main difference is that if pupils used to take three or four exams, today there will be one exam – a national multi-subject test that will last 90 minutes – not in an online format, but in educational institutions, and will contain three important subjects: the Ukrainian language, mathematics and history of Ukraine (20 tasks for each discipline). It will also be possible to pause during the air raid siren and then continue to take the test," – said Serhii Shkarlet.

The Minister stressed that the physical presence of the entrant is mandatory. The Head of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine also explained why these educational subjects were selected for the national multi-subject test program.

"The Ukrainian language and mathematics were mandatory during passing the state final certification in Ukraine. These disciplines have the highest predictive valence regarding the possibility of studying for a bachelor's program. And the Ukrainian language today is the defining subject of our Ukrainian genocode," – stressed the Minister.

According to him, in order to obtain citizenship in any country, it is needed to pass an exam on the history of the state.

"If a Ukrainian does not know the history of Ukraine, then higher education is out of the question," – noted Serhii Shkarlet.

During the broadcast, information was provided on the admission to higher education institutions of those graduates who are currently abroad.

"Applicants who have finished the eleventh grade and wish to enter higher education institutions of Ukraine will have such an opportunity. In the EU countries, they will be able to take a national multi-subject test either in the capitals of European states or on the basis of universities of these countries," – said Serhii Shkarlet.

Previously, the Minister of Education and Science presented important changes in the mechanism of the admission campaign, as well as explained the mathematical block of the NMT along with the NMT block on the Ukrainian language and history of Ukraine.
