The administration and the faculty of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” performed a range of preventive measures in the university buildings and the dormitories in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
The surveillance group, created back in March, planned the work on the watch for the second wave of the pandemic.
“The new lockdown zoning has been enacted in Poltava oblast since October 19. All the districts of our region are listed as the “orange” zone, and Poltava has been placed in the “red” zone. Stronger lockdown measures are enacted, so the meetings of the administration, the Academic Boards of our university, and the education process have been switched to the online format we have already got used to. The university administration, the Department of Law and Personnel Management and the Safety Department of our university have developed a system of anti-pandemic measures in order to prevent the spreading of the Coronavirus infection among the faculty, workers and students of our university. Our task is to be alert and one step ahead, keeping in mind the basic safety rules. I am asking my colleagues to care for their health, call their doctor in case of the infection symptoms appearing, act calmly and reasonably,” Rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko commented.
According to Vice Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and Economic Development of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic Olena Filonych, university has already implemented a system of measures for minimizing the contacts between teachers, accounting workers and contract department with visitors. Most problems can be solved through phone calls and e-mails. All the services of our university will be functioning in accordance with the schedule compiled by their managers.
“We have limited the access to the university campus to follow the recommendations of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the university statute. The essential workers are entering according to special lists. Temperature screening is held at the entrance, and it is recommended to call the doctor in case of symptoms of infection. The scale and the risks of the pandemic should not be underestimated,” Director of Safety Department of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Andrii Zamakhin said.
“I would like to emphasize that all the planned scientific events and international projects are still realized online, except for the canceled intellectual and creative competitions from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The work is not slowed down, and we are going to hold many all-Ukrainian and international conferences from October to December. Taking into account the experience of our international partners, leading European universities located in the “red” zone now too, we recommend that the distanced communication form is preferred whenever possible for improvement of educational and scientific cooperation and for finding new international partners, working on publications in well-known international editions,” Vice Rector of Scientific and International Affairs of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Svitlana Sivitska said.
The educational services are provided to students to the full extent. Classes are held according to the schedule, the online platform for distanced education is functioning. Directors of education and research institutes, deans of faculties, heads of departments, academic staff of our university are personally responsible for ensuring and organizing studying online. The work with talented youth continues online too — the meetings of scientific clubs are held in Zoom.
