Rector of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko presented his report on performing the terms of the contract with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in this special year that marked a jubilee for our university and was life-changing for the world. Despite the lockdown, the university staff was awarded at the state level, and the university’s 90th anniversary celebration was joined by government representatives and partners.
323 employees of our university were awarded for their achievements and on the occasion of the jubilee, and the whole team was awarded the higher governmental award for the fifth time in history.
“We are reaching the goals determined in the Prospective Program that I offered in 2017, and step by step I have been performing the duties specified in it. The scientometric indexes have grown, university facilities have been updated, the number of scientific services and researchers performed for different clients has increased; we have also held a successful entrance campaign this year and taken high positions in various rankings. Leadership in the higher education of Ukraine is among the most important results in 2020.
We have paid special attention to counteracting the pandemic and creating a safe environment. Due to this, we have changed the time table and the studying process schedule for the first time in history, created special navigation rules, formed temperature screening points and put up stands with hand sanitizers.
I am proud of the team that has such high achievements! Each of you is multiplying the achievements of our university with your work. And if I could make an allusion to the tradition of dedicating years to certain topics in our country, for example, we had the Year of Mathematics, the Year of English, I would, as a rector, call 2021 the Year of Social Protection for the university staff!” Volodymyr Onyshchenko emphasized.

The student body of Poltava Polytechnic also supported and praised the Rector’s work.
Taking into account today’s circumstances, students of our university receive scholarships in time, live in warm dormitories, and despite the online learning format, the quality of our education is still high,” Head of Trade Union of Students and Post-Graduates Oleksandr Drobotia commented. Together with Head of Student Parliament Oleksandr Lytvynenko, on behalf of the student body of our university, they gave an award to Rector of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” “for father-like care about the students of Poltava Polytechnic, great example of a modern manager that symbolizes intelligence, wisdom, creativeness, sport enthusiasm, and the ability to set and achieve goals.”
The report was approved in accordance with the results of the discussion.
The session was finished with awarding university employees with diplomas from local self-government bodies.
