As part of the scientific and educational cooperation of the Department of Finance, Banking and Taxation of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” with the university’s stakeholder JSC “Sense Bank”, those receiving higher education of the first (bachelor’s) and second (master’s) levels attended a series of field classes on the basis of branches JSC “Sense Bank”. The subject of field classes is dictated by modern professional challenges for future graduates at their first workplace, the need to constantly improve one’s own qualifications and exchange already acquired practical experience.
Professionally motivated student youth of the Poltava Polytechnic together with director of the Poltava JSC “Sense Bank” branch Oleh Bondarenko, director of the Poltava branch No. 3, a graduate of the university Oksana Levchuk, and teachers of the Department of Finance, Banking and Taxation – Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Yuliia Hudolii, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Oksana Vovchenko and head of the educational and scientific laboratory “Educational Bank” of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Maryna Turchenko, got acquainted with the specifics of the work of bank branches.
In particular, on May 2, an on-site class “Practices of financial monitoring in a bank” was held for students of the third year of the specialty 072 “Finance, banking and insurance” and “Banking business”. Director of the Poltava Branch No. 3 of JSC “Sense Bank” Oksana Levchuk discussed with students and teachers the basics of building an effective money laundering and terrorist financing risk management system in war conditions, the principles of due diligence of clients, the specifics of determining the ultimate beneficial owners, and current money laundering schemes in modern conditions.
On May 4, during the field trip, master’s students of the educational programs “Finance, banking and insurance” as well as “Management of financial and economic security” together with director of the Poltava branch of JSC “Sense Bank” Oleh Bondarenko and teachers of the Department of Finance, Banking and Taxation, got acquainted with features of cash register service as well as self-service of individuals and legal entities, work with VIP-clients of the bank, nuances of managing salary and card projects, servicing accounts of corporate clients and the uniqueness of the bank’s brand. Future professionals were also interested in the protection of bank secrecy and personal data of clients.
As part of the events held on May 5, for students of the first year of the specialty 072 “Finance, banking and insurance”, an on-site practical class was held in the discipline “Business communications and ethics of banking business” on the topic “Corporate social responsibility. Business etiquette in the bank”. The class took place in the form of a constructive dialogue with director of the Poltava JSC “Sense Bank” branch Oleh Bondarenko, during which the young people received highly qualified answers to specific questions about current trends in the organization of banking business in modern conditions and expanded the range of available knowledge regarding the peculiarities of business ethics in the bank.
In particular, those receiving higher education learned more about the Sense Bank brand – one of the largest Ukrainian banks with international capital, discussed the mechanism of self-service for clients, the process of supporting salary card projects, the basics of financial monitoring. The first-year students were delighted to get acquainted with the principles of social responsibility, which is a clearly structured system that covers the entire path of support: from the receipt of a request for any item of equipment and accoutrements through procurement and logistics to receiving from hand to hand and documenting every hryvnia spent.
According to Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance, Banking and Taxation of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Yuliia Khudolii, systematic visits to a financial institution are an opportunity for future professionals to familiarize themselves with a potential place of work, understand the practical aspects of a bank employee work and expand their own practical experience.

Previously, scientists, students and practitioners exchanged useful cases in the field of public administration on the basis of the Department of the National Mediation and Reconciliation Service in the Poltava region, future public managers and logisticians deepened their knowledge in the field of administrative services on the basis of the Tax Payer Service Centre of the State Tax Inspectorate in the city of Poltava, Professor Anton Stolitnii shared effective cases of anti-corruption activities with finance students, an expert in foreign exchange operations of a well-known exporting company gave an open lecture on financial management innovations, and future professionals improved their skills in working with accounting reporting at the Tax Payer Service Centre of the State Tax Inspectorate in Poltava.
