Student of group 102HS, the specialization No. 017 Physical Education and Sport of the Faculty of Sports of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Maryna Pekha won the first place at the Poltava oblast championship in Dragon boat racing held on October, 14, in Poltava. The championship was organized by Poltava Oblast Organization of Sport Association “Spartak”.
The student also became the prizewinner of the Champion of Ukraine October Open in Dragon Boat Racing held on October, 16-17, in Kyiv. Professionals passed the distances of 12,000 meters, amateurs could try to compete on the distance of 6,000 meters. The main judge of the competition was the President of the Ukrainian Dragon Boar Federation Valerii Morhun.
“Maryna is an active, initiative student who has the 1st adult category in boating, canoeing and in Dragon boat racing on the first year of studying. Our champion has contributed to the list of victories of our students in the specialization No. 017 Physical Education and Sport of the Faculty of Sports of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”. University has all the facilities for the students’ development in sport; we have modern infrastructure, high-qualified teachers and great coaches,” Doctor of Pedagogy, Head of Physical Education and Sport Department of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Lina Rybalko said.
Students of Polytechnic have won silver and bronze medals at the Championships of Ukraine in Boating for multiple times.
