First-year students of the Polytechnic have been initiated and received the attributes of students

On September 3, the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" solemnly celebrated the First-Year Students Day. For the third year in a row, the holiday is held in an open-air format, and freshmen are greeted by graduates and staff of the university.

Directors of educational and research institutes, deans of faculties, first-year students, their parents and invited guests gathered for the solemn celebration on the occasion of the First-Year Students Day.

The innovation of this year's holiday was the commencement of the tradition of celebrations and initiation ceremony of freshmen to students at the end of the first week of study at the university as well as communication in Q&A format with the university rectorate. The host of the event was a graduate of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", Assistant Rector for work with students Ivan Ksenzhuk.

The university graduate in 1993, rector of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko, Mayor of Poltava Oleksandr Mamai, the First Deputy Chairman of the Poltava Regional Council Oleksandr Lemeshko, People's Deputy of Ukraine, University graduate Kostiantyn Kasai, Poltava Regional Council Deputy, Chairman of the Commission on Education, Science and Culture Oleh Didenko and Military Commissioner of the Poltava Joint Territorial Center for Complex and Social Support Oleksandr Turchenko visited the event to congratulate first-year students and their parents, to wish vital energy, success in studying and happy, bright moments of student life.

"The largest community of applicants in the Poltava region became first-year students and received congratulations on the beginning of such an important stage in their life!

The best institution of higher education – National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" accepted more than 1,500 students into its large family! Almost a thousand of them were admitted at the bachelor's degree, and half a thousand – at the master's degree. About 450 foreign students receive high-quality European education.

Dear freshmen! I sincerely congratulate you on becoming students of the Poltava Polytechnic university, which brilliantly combines two hundred years of educational traditions and innovations, past and present!

Our higher education institution is one of the few classic universities, where, despite the dynamic development, traditions are preserved and multiplied, the history of our educational institution is popularized.

The patron of our university is a famous Poltava resident, scientist and inventor Yuri Kondratyuk who dreamed of space and his dreams came true, so dream and succeed!

Our university and scientific and pedagogical staff will definitely help you to implement the most daring projects.

Remember: life is constantly changing, it is extremely unsteady, and the knowledge you have gained becomes obsolete, so do not be lazy to learn and master new technologies. Work on yourself, and my colleagues will give each of you the necessary basics and a clear understanding of any changes in modern society!

The importance of education in a person's life was emphasized by Poltava Mayor Oleksandr Mamai: "First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to lecturers for giving their own knowledge, often sleepless nights to youth, sharing joys and difficulties. We understand perfectly well that there is a long life ahead, the future of our town and country is in their hands, and today the country in which we will live will depend on what education these young people will receive. I wish lecturers inspiration, courage and perseverance, and parents – health, patience and solidarity with lecturers. Let's do everything together to make their young years pass at the highest level! Dear students, I want to address you and urge you to communicate with each other, respect lecturers, parents, find new student friends. Live with pride in Ukraine and be proud of your native alma mater achievements!"

First Deputy Chairman of the Poltava Regional Council Oleksandr Lemeshko conveyed words of congratulations from the Chairman of the Poltava Regional Council Oleksandr Bilenkyi and the entire deputy corps of the Poltava Regional Council.

Head of the Commission on Education, Science and Culture of the Poltava Regional Council, Deputy Oleh Didenko noted the high level of educational services at the university.

"I want to assure you that inside these walls you will get what you came for – respect, good education and a decent upbringing! Science and education are evolving, and our specialists are needed all over the world. However, be proud that you were born and live in Ukraine, your parents and relatives live here too. Work on its development, you will succeed in Ukraine! I know for sure that quality knowledge is the key to success! Good luck!" – wished the Deputy of the Regional Council Oleh Didenko.

The People's Deputy of Ukraine, university graduate Kostiantyn Kasai noted that many graduates of Poltava Polytechnic are successful professionals in various fields, well known in the Poltava region and work for the benefit of the Ukrainian people in various sectors of the national economy and production.

"It is very honorable to welcome this year's freshmen in the walls of one of the best universities in Ukraine. I am not saying empty words, since having graduated from the university exactly twenty years ago, I started my own dynasty. Today my son Pavlo is starting his adult life right here. In my firm belief, the future of our still young state is in the hands of purposeful, persistent, creative youth. I wish you smart decisions, quality knowledge and professional growth!" – congratulated the People's Deputy of Ukraine, graduate of the University Kostiantyn Kasai.

Another direction in the university is occupied by the military-patriotic education. The Military Department closely cooperates with the city and regional military commissariats and professional military, that provide qualified assistance in training future reserve officers. The Military Commissioner of the Poltava Joint Territorial Center for Complex and Social Support, Colonel Oleksandr Turchenko, congratulated the first-year students on the beginning of the new academic year and the initiation ceremony to the students of Poltava Polytechnic. He has previously talked about the needs of our country in the formation of personnel potential, protection of its territorial integrity and preservation of peace in the East.

A minute of silence honored those who fought for peace at the cost of their own lives, defending the sovereignty of our state and its territorial integrity. Traditionally, students laid flowers to the Memorial Stele to the fallen lecturers and students, memorial plaques to the fallen in the ATO zone – the student of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture and Construction Maksym Khitailov and the graduate of the Electromechanical Faculty of the university Dmytro Koriak.

According to the long-standing tradition of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", freshmen joining the university family receive the main symbols of student life from the rector, honored guests and student government.

Student attributes – the Key of knowledge, symbolic student ID card and individual curriculum were solemnly presented to the first-year students of bachelor degree who have successfully passed external independent evaluation (ZNO) and have the highest rating points: Anton Kurnakov, student of Educational and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Robotics, Anhelina Tryfonova, student of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Construction and Land Management, Daria Moskalenko and Mykola Kokhanych – future bachelors of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law and the Faculty of Humanities, Vadym Dudnyk, freshman of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas and Daria Starostyna, student of the  Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Construction and Land Management. 

The first-year student of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Construction and Land Management who scored the highest rating points, gold medalist Sofiia Hrosheva, took the freshman oath. In a solemn atmosphere, the attendees vowed to highly bear the name of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", to properly maintain the high rank of students of higher education in Ukraine, to take an active part in educational, scientific and social activities of the university, to educate an active public life position, and persistence in solving the tasks.

The festive program continued with the performance of the song "To Freshmen" by members of the Center for Culture and Student Creativity and the launch of yellow and blue balloons into the open sky. Choreographic compositions were presented to the audience by participants of the choreographic studio "Legend".

At the end of the festivities, freshmen were taking photos with their friends, university mentors and parents near the festive photo zone and went to get acquainted with the university administration and representatives of the student self-government of the university. At the Center for Culture and Student Creativity, first-year students talked at ease, exchanged impressions from the first days of study and shared plans for the future.

Soon, the university will host a festive open-air party for freshmen and the opening of a new location.
