FPCS student Oleksii Virchenko wins a bronze medal of the World Para Swimming Championships

A student of group 301-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" Oleksii Virchenko, continues to successfully perform at the World Para Swimming Championships. The athlete of Poltava Polytechnic won a bronze medal in the 100-meter freestyle.

On July 31, 2023, the World Paral Swimming Championships began in Manchester and will last until August 6. The national team of Ukraine is represented by 42 experienced athletes who demonstrate excellent results at various distances.

Oleksii Virchenko, a student of group 301-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", continues to perform successfully as part of the national team. The athlete won a bronze medal at the World Para Swimming Championships, entering the top three and overcoming the distance of 100 meters freestyle in the S13 class (among athletes with visual impairments) in 52.78 seconds.

It should be recalled that on the first day of the competition, Oleksii Virchenko became the gold medalist of the World Para Swimming Championships in the distance of 100-meter butterfly.

Recently, Poltava Polytechnic teacher Oksana Hordiienko became the silver medalist of the European Championship in the classic bench press.
