An orientation meeting for students of preparatory courses was held in Poltava Polytechnic, during which future entrants and their parents received comprehensive information about more than 100 educational programs, according to which training is carried out at one of the best classical universities in the country.

In the Centre for Culture and Student Creativity of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” orientation meetings were held for students of preparation courses which started their work at the university on October 2.

“We are very pleased to welcome you to the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”. We are especially pleased that you have shown a desire to study in preparation courses for further higher education.

Poltava Polytechnic is the only classical university in Poltava in the full sense of the word, where students are trained in the scientific fields of humanities, natural sciences, economics, engineering and art.

This year our university turns 205 years old. We trace our history back to 1818, and we are the oldest university in the Poltava region.

The university takes up leading positions in authoritative international and national rankings. We are the first and the only one in Poltava that is included in the leading international ranking – QS Universities Rankings. Among the 31 universities of Ukraine, we are in the TOP-20, among the higher education institutions in Eastern Europe, we are in the TOP-100, and among the higher education institutions of the whole of Europe we are among the 600 best universities.

Applicants from 21 regions of Ukraine entered our university this year. Almost the whole country shows the same interest in our university as you do. This year, more than 3,500 entrants were admitted to the university,” – said Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and Infrastructure Development, laureate of the Prize of the President of Ukraine for young scientists, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Bohdan Korobko.

The attendees were introduced to the list of educational programs and a wide range of specialties popular among today’s youth by:

  • Deputy Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law, Associate Professor Iryna Krekoten;
  • Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Land Management, Doctor of Architecture, Professor Vadim Vadimov;
  • Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Robotics, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Volodymyr Pents;
  • Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and Infrastructure Development, laureate of the Prize of the President of Ukraine for young scientists, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Bohdan Korobko the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas was presented;
  • Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Anna Aheicheva;
  • Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Lina Rybalko.

Head of the Centre for Work with Gifted Youth of Yuri Kondratyuk National University Olha Sen moderated the orientation meeting.

“We have invited you, dear applicants, parents, on the eve of making an extremely important decision in your life, namely choosing a future profession. Therefore, on behalf of the entire scientific and pedagogical team of the university, on behalf of the administration and the rector, I sincerely congratulate you on the start of the preparation courses, the beginning of your conscious step towards your own future, dear future applicants,” – congratulated the applicants and their parents Olha Sen.

The National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” today is an innovation centre of the Poltava region, which unites 8 structural subdivisions, more than 7 thousand students, and implements about 100 educational programs.

Strong educational traditions and innovative activities of one of the best universities in our country were presented by the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and Infrastructure Development, laureate of the Prize of the President of Ukraine for young scientists, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Bohdan Korobko, who spoke about the wide range of quality educational services provided by the Poltava Polytechnic.

The Head of the Preparation Department of the Centre for Work with Gifted Youth, Svitlana Revenko focused the listeners’ and their parents’ attention on those pleasant “bonuses” that young men and women can receive entering the Poltava Polytechnic.

After the meeting, prospective entrants and their parents took a campus tour of university locations.

It should be recalled that the second stage of admission to master’s studies at the expense of individuals and legal entities has started.
