Future surveyors have an open practical class

On April 8, an open practical class was held for students of specialty 193 “Geodesy and Land Management” of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Land Management. Future surveyors mastered the practical skills of using geodetic instruments and conducting land cadastral work.

Teachers of the Department of Highways, Geodesy, Land Management and Rural Buildings conduct open practical classes in geodesy on the territory of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” in compliance with safety requirements.

During practical work, students of specialty 193 “Geodesy and Land Management” mastered important competencies of the future profession – they performed checks of geodetic devices, checked the local geodynamic stability of network points.

“Theoretical knowledge acquired in university classrooms must be actively supplemented with practical skills, and potential employers provide the necessary recommendations as well as professional advice to future specialists. There is a real need for such personnel in Ukraine, so we are actively working to create favourable conditions for the practical training of high-level specialists. Conducting practical classes is an opportunity to work with tools and get answers to current questions. All this is positive, it motivates young people in the best way,” – commented the Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Land Management of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor Hryhorii Sharyi.

It is worth noting the fact of the external stakeholders’ involvement, as employers, with their own practical experience and professional skills emphasize the importance of obtaining professional knowledge for young people to carry out geodetic and land cadastral works. According to scientists, it is difficult to overestimate such a powerful interaction between a leading higher education institution and enterprises, state services of the Poltava region.
