This year the number of academic scholarships recipients will be 40-45%. The relevant motion has already been supported by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine. Necessary adjustments will be made to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Procedure for Assignment and Payment of Scholarships” of December 2, 2021 № 1256. The document is currently in the final stages of approval by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
“During the next sitting of the Government, the issue will be finally settled. Thus, the number of scholarship students will not decrease, and the amount of scholarships will increase.
I sincerely thank my fellow government officials for supporting the students and understanding the importance of this step.
The best students should feel supported by the state. I have repeatedly said that all changes in the field of higher education are made for the sake of students,” – stressed the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhii Shkarlet.
Each semester, the Academic Council of the higher education institution will determine the same for all faculties, educational and research institutes, academic courses and specialties, limit of scholarship students who will be awarded an academic scholarship based on the results of semester control.
The Government recently made a esolution that from January 1, 2022, students will receive increased scholarships:
- for bachelor’s and master’s students, as well as specialists the regular scholarship increased from 1300 to 2000 hryvnias, the increased scholarship went up from 1600 to 2550 hryvnias;
- for students of technical schools, lyceums, colleges the regular scholarship increased from 980 to 1510 hryvnias, and the increased scholarship went up from 1250 to 1930 hryvnias;
- students of vocational technical schools have a scholarship in the amount of 1250 hryvnias (previously 490 hryvnias).
Depending on the type of educational institution, the academic scholarship of the President of Ukraine will range from 2,750 to 4,400 hryvnias per month. Nominal and academic scholarship of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will be 2500-4000 hryvnias.
It should be recalled that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine supported the abolition of foreign scholarships taxation that Ukrainian scientists will receive from sources outside the country.
