On the International Student Sports Day and the Birthday of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, student-athletes carried on warm-up, presented sports sections for students of all specialties, and held master classes in 26 sports at the most modern sports locations of the university. Students and lecturers of various educational and research institutes and faculties of the university joined the active warm-up at the newly opened innovative location – DTEK Alley.
Kateryna Bezkostna, graduate of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, led an energetic warm-up for all those present.
Rector of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, head of the separate subdivision of the NGO “Student Sports Union of Ukraine” in Poltava region Volodymyr Onyshchenko and Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Lina Rybalko congratulated the students of Poltava Polytechnic and wished them sports enthusiasm, tireless desire for victory and successful performances at competitions of various levels. After all, every year the treasury of sports awards is replenished with new awards and the high authority of the university as a center of youth and student sports in Poltava region is confirmed at the highest, state level.
“One of the sports traditions of Poltava Polytechnic is the celebration of the International Day of Student Sports, which unites like-minded people, professional athletes, amateurs and fans of a healthy lifestyle! For a long time in the structure of our university there is a powerful structural unit – the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, which has become a “forge” of sports student talents, and its students and graduates glorify Poltava and Ukraine at the highest, national and international levels! I sincerely congratulate those who, through their daily tireless work, demonstrate athletic endurance, the desire to become the best and are inspired by the victories of their glorious predecessors!
It is nice to state the fact that among the graduates and students of the university – a whole galaxy of sports stars who became champions, winners of the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, winners of the Championships of Ukraine, Europe and the world, whose achievements Poltava Polytechnic is sincerely proud of! Their dedication to sports is a great example for the next generation of young people who are fond of sports and have already reached certain heights! The names of Yevhen Bohodaiko, Denys Ostapchenko, Yurii Bozhynskyi, Ivan Mai, and Oleksii Virchenko are inscribed in gold letters in the Book of Honor “Pride of the University”. I wish you health, strong immunity, vital energy and inspiration. Be proud that you are students of one of the best universities in Ukraine!” – cheered rector of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” and head of the separate subdivision of the NGO “Student Sports Union of Ukraine” in Poltava region, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko. Recently, the President of Ukraine awarded the orders of graduates and students of the Polytechnic – Paralympic champions. Paralympic champions became Honorary Masters of the University, and 15 champion students were awarded honors for the Day of Physical Culture and Sports.
According to the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Lina Rybalko, love to sports, outdoor games, support of youth initiatives, creation of favorable conditions for the development of gifted youth, various sports and physical activities is a necessary guarantee of high sports achievements of students and graduates of the university.
“Every year, the whole friendly university family celebrates the International Day of Student Sports, sharing the joy of our victories! We are proud of each of you who have significant achievements and who are still taking their first steps in a great sport; we wish you new achievements and success in tireless work on yourself.
Thanks to the great attention paid to the development of student sports at our university and the personal comprehensive support of the rector of the Polytechnic Volodymyr Onyshchenko, we have significant results and rejoice in the success of our students! Dear students, each of your victories deserves words of sincere gratitude, because it is you who write a new page in the sports history of your native alma-mater, glorifying it far beyond your mother country. We wish you good health, athletic vigor and a desire to become leaders in everything you do!” – emphasized Lina Rybalko.
After the warm-up, students went to the modern sports locations of the university, where they played football, volleyball, held master classes in tennis and table tennis, communicated at a meeting of the psychological studio “Path to Success” and exchanged impressions of the “sports day” they spent together.
“Once again, we approached the celebration on a large scale – demonstration performances of participants of 22 sections were held at sports locations. Master classes for students were conducted by professional athletes and experienced coaches,” – noted the head of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports.
Last year, the birthday of the faculty was celebrated with a warm-up and sports activities, and in 2019 Poltava Polytechnic became the center of the International Day of Student Sports celebration, and on its basis the XV Universiade of Ukraine 2019-2020 was opened.
