Knowledge Day In Special Circumstances: Lyceum Students Celebrate Beginning Of Academic Year At Polytechnic

On September, 1, National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” hosted the celebration of the Knowledge Day for the students and teachers of I. P. Kotliarevskyi Poltava Multidisciplinary Lyceum No. 1.

The academic year of 2020-2021 began in an unusual way for I. P. Kotliarevskyi Poltava Multidisciplinary Lyceum No. 1, in the cosy courtyard of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”. The day before, the pedagogical team of the lyceum held their August conference at the university and organized the celebration for their students there within the agreement on cooperation between the school and the university.

The teachers, students and graduates and their parents gathered for the ceremonial beginning of the academic year.

The Director of I. P. Kotliarevskyi Poltava Multidisciplinary Lyceum No. 1 Nataliia Verhal greeted her students: “This year’s Knowledge Day is held in an unusual form for our lyceum. Unfortunately, we cannot gather the whole team of our school, but I believe that the next academic year will allow our students to manage the challenges with dignity, pass the External Independent Evaluation successfully and choose the specialization to their liking. We are proud of our students and graduates who will form the scientific and educational potential of Poltava region making a great contribution to the development of their country. May you have inspiration, successes in studying, new wins and scientific achievements!”

During the celebration, the ceremony of awarding the graduates of lyceum was held. Awards were given to the winner of the 2nd stage of the All-Ukrainian Students’ Competition in Mathematics, the Minor Academy of Sciences Competition of Scientific and Research Articles Artem Matsiutrkyi, the winner of the All-Ukrainian Students’ Competition in Astronomy, the winner of the 3rd stage of the All-Ukrainian Students’ Competition in Physics Valerii Firsun, the school leaver who reached the highest mark in the EIE in Chemistry Oleksii Lypenko.

“Probably, it is not a coincidence that our meeting is held at the monument to the person whose dream of space exploration came true, the citizen of Poltava, Yuri Kondratyuk. Dream, achieve successes, so that your path to success is as smooth as possible, be confident in reaching the life goal, and may your best friends, parents and mentors stay close to you.

“Develop your skills and knowledge, receive high-quality education, participate in the scientific clubs, sport and art clubs, form leadership qualities in students’ self-government, and get a positive image of a competitive graduate who will be able to contribute to the further development of Ukraine! May success attend you! Good luck, our dear students!” Rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko greeted the guests.

The celebration finished with the traditions of the lyceum, including giving traditional bread to the youngest pupils, sprinkling them with wheat, and the ceremonial performance of the anthem of the lyceum. After the end of the celebration, the students and their teachers went to the university for their first ceremonial class.
