Students of the Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" participated in the "Marathon of Good Deeds" launched as part of the international charitable movement "Giving Tuesday" (#GivingTuesday). According to future translators, even in the most difficult times, one should nurture a sense of love for one's neighbors, support the weakest, warming them with one's own spiritual warmth. It is especially necessary to take care of homeless animals, who often end up on the street at the will of their owners or due to difficult life circumstances, left alone with human indifference and hunger.
The students of group 102-FF of Poltava Polytechnic became active participants in the "Marathon of Good Deeds", who, together with the head of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Oksana Vorobiova, and the curator of the group, Associate Professor of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation Oleksandr Tupytsia, organized the charity event "Pet Day".
The initiative students talked to the administration of the "Homeless Animals Shelter" and asked about specific needs for helping homeless animals. The boys and girls quickly agreed on a voluntary fundraiser and distributed the responsibilities. In total, it was possible to purchase 55 kg of various meat delicacies, which students and teachers brought to the shelter. The animals gratefully met their new friends, and young people willingly walked their tailed acquaintances.
"The charity campaign was launched with the aim of helping those who are in dire need of it at the moment. We are glad that the youth of the Poltava Polytechnic willingly respond to joint initiatives, showing humanity and nobility in relation to the sick and infirm ones. Even in the conditions of a full-scale war, one should not forget about mercy, love and sharing warmth with those who cannot cope with adversity on their own or depend on external circumstances.
Our event is a repeated action, we will definitely continue our own "Marathon of Good Deeds", which, I believe, students of other specialties of our university will definitely join. Doing good is extremely simple, and the feeling of having helped someone in a difficult moment will warm your soul for a long time," – commented the head of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Oksana Vorobiova.
Previously, Poltava Polytechnic was recognized for its active participation in the All-Ukrainian charity campaign "Brave Hryvnia", volunteers of the Poltava Polytechnic organized a charity concert in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, helped the children of IDPs to get ready to go to school.
