It was possible to join the Zoom conferences for everyone, the academic staff, students, post-graduates - everybody who is interested in the problems of modern ecology. The listeners could communicate with the lecturer, ask questions, and the most active ones would be given books signed by the author.
The CEO of Newfolk OGCC, the Rector’s Adviser for Ecological and Energetic Problems at National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Andrii Zakrevskyi has been working with Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic and Poltava Oil and Gas College as a partner on educative and business projects. He shared his great experience in oil and gas field with the students of the university and college. During the last two years, the speaker delivered a lecture course on the technologies of oil and gas production for the students of the university specializations connected with oil and gas. The businessman plans to deliver lectures on the evolution ecology. He provided his lecture materials and presentations to the teachers to use in classes.
He has been researching the problems of industrial ecology for a very long time, but he also considers himself a writer, because his first money was earned for a fantastic story. Andrii Zakrevskyi believes his mission as a lecturer is to give his listeners a possibility to look for the answers themselves, and not accept the mindset of others as a certain rule.
“My first steps in the scientific career as well as my life later has been accompanied by the study of industrial ecology. Being a part of scientific expeditions, I have visited a large number of countries and seen a lot of interesting things. That is when I started thinking about the problems of the environment protection,” Andrii Zakrevskyi said.
The speaker explained his choice to appeal to the ecologic problems, the theory of global warming, resource and energy shortage waiting for people in a few decades, “The first thing we should do is to doubt any scientific points, the most incredible suggestions expressed by our contemporaries. Science is necessary for structuring the knowledge. The scientific approach in world view consists of very simple things, you have to try the experience of others and always check if the material world is real. Faith is the spiritual field, and the science is about studying all the natural things, not trusting the authorities, suggesting new or rejecting the existing hypotheses.”
The answer to the key question of the lecture “What is actually ecology, what can it give to the humanity?” was the point, that the main problem in protecting the environment is the human. “We can do two things. Either we remove the human from this natural formula, or we understand how to describe the interrelated influence of human and nature,” Andrii Zakrevskyi is sure.
