“Mom, Dad, I – Sports Family”: the winning family of the competition is to represent Poltava region at all-Ukrainian competitions

On March 26, in the sports hall of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, the regional festival “Mom, Dad, I – Sports Family” was held, organized by the Poltava Regional Centre for Physical Health of the Population “Sports for All”. 18 teams of sports families from 15 communities of Poltava region took part in the competition. The winners will perform at the All-Ukrainian festival.

With the support of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, the Department of Youth and Sports of the Poltava RMA and the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, almost two dozen families competed for the title of the most athletic family as well as popularized family leisure.

Head of the Department of Youth and Sports of the Poltava Regional Military Administration Maryna Trokhymenko, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports Lina Rybalko, Acting Director of the Poltava Regional Centre for Physical Health of the Population “Sports for All” Oleksandr Ivanov and the founders of the dental clinic “ATAM by OVAKIMYAN” – sisters Betkhem and Alvida Ovakimian congratulated the participants who decided to spend a bright and meaningful day off with their families.

Families competed for the first place in various competitions: “Knock down pins”, “Relay with a hoop”, “Bouncing a tennis ball in one minute”, “Hitting a target with a ball”, creating patriotic pictures and a sports quiz.

Scientists of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” – Vice-Rector for Scientific, Pedagogical and Educational Work, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Bohdan Korobko as well as Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Industrial Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics of the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Robotics Mykola Nesterenko – also took part in competitions with their families.

“We support the initiative of the organizers and by our example show how families can spend time and, in general, the tendency for sports and a healthy lifestyle to become an integral part of the culture of our people. If we have a healthy nation, then our country will have a reliable future. Children are known to follow their parents’ example, so this is a great opportunity to have a good time. We have already won the main prize – it’s a wonderful day with the family, the joy of communicating with relatives and a positive mood,” – commented the representatives of the Poltava Polytechnic.

The winners – the Riadnykh family from Chutovo community will take part in the all-Ukrainian festival “Mom, Dad, I – Sports Family”

The organizers thanked all the participants of the event for their uncompromising struggle and passionate emotions that raged in the hall during the event, and awarded the winners.

It should be recalled that the Open Taekwon-Do Club Championship of Ukraine “Unbreakable Ukraine” GTF was held at the Poltava Polytechnic – athletes competed in seven different categories and supported the affected family from Kharkiv region.
