New academic year at the Polytechnic begins with an extended conference meeting of the university staff

On September 1, National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” conducted an extended Conference meeting of the staff, during which they heard a report by the rector of the university, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko on scientific, educational, innovative activities of the educational institution and the best employees were awarded with state awards and honorary decoration of Poltava Polytechnic.

During the extended Conference meeting of the staff of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko reported to the scientific and pedagogical staff on the activities during 2020/2021 academic year, outlined the main directions and priority areas of development of the Polytechnic as one of the best Ukrainian universities and a leader in higher education in the Poltava region.

On behalf of the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhii Shkarlet, Rector of the University conveyed congratulations to all scientific and pedagogical staff and student team on the occasion of the new academic year and wished further success in the development of quality higher education at the European level in Poltava region and Ukraine in general.

Last academic year, despite the global COVID-19 pandemic, brought for the university a number of significant intellectual, scientific, innovative, and sport achievements.

Scientists, lecturers and staff of one of the leading classical universities of Ukraine received state-level awards for special merits to the Ukrainian people, high professionalism and significant contribution to the development of modern science and technology. In addition, for the university anniversary, the scientific and pedagogical staff was honored at the state level, and 323 employees were personally awarded for their significant achievements.

“I am proud of the accomplishments of the university, which occupies dominant, leading positions in academic Ukrainian and international rankings, in particular, entering the TOP-100 best Ukrainian universities.

Last year proved our readiness to meet the challenges and cooperate with business. Thanks to the support of our partners and their all-round contribution, the material, technical and laboratory base has been strengthened, new scientific and educational locations have been opened, and a set of interesting projects have been launched. Scientists of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Construction and Land Management of our university, in particular the senior lecturer of the Department of Architecture of Housings and Public Buildings Andrii Koniuk, have developed a number of projects for modern educational spaces, infrastructure objects, which will be successfully implemented in the near future.

It was at our university that the first precedent was set in Ukraine – a foreign professor joined the tuition at the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering. This gives a powerful incentive to move forward, without stopping at what has been achieved,” – noted the rector of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.

The People’s Deputy of Ukraine Andrii Bobliakh mentioned his full support for the university’s initiatives in the field of science and education. He conveyed greetings from the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov and shared plans for further educational and scientific cooperation with the university at the state level.

Scientific and pedagogical staff commented upon the great and substantial speech of the rector and offered to approve the report.

Head of the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy, Doctor of Psychology, Professor Svitlana Yalanska thanked the university management and personally the rector of the university, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko for supporting scientific and educational initiatives of lecturers of the youngest department of the university: “I am proud to be a part of such a respectable scientific and pedagogical team, which has all the necessary professional competencies, teaching skills. We are grateful that such a team is headed by a real leader, creative, dedicated to his difficult work, with whose support university develops not only technical specialties, but also social and humanitarian areas, in particular this year we welcomed the first set of applicants for higher education in specialties 053 “Psychology” and 012 “Preschool education”. We wish you inexhaustible energy, creative achievements and new grandiose projects!”

Olena Filonenko, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Poltava Polytechnic Department of Construction and Civil Engineering, noted the excellent material and technical conditions for scientific and technical creativity. The scientist shared her own achievements, which she said were impossible without the support of the university management, and thanked for the professionalism, high activity of her colleagues in the preparation of unique research projects.

“On behalf of the Faculty of Humanities, let me congratulate you on the beginning of the academic year and assure you that the structural unit entrusted to me is fully prepared to meet the challenges and perform the tasks assigned to it. Personally, I would like to thank for creating the necessary language space and promoting our mutual ideas,” – says Dean of the Faculty of Humanities of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Anna Aheicheva.

Olha Komelina, Doctor of Economics, Head of the Department of Management and Logistics, noted: “During the accreditation of our educational and professional programs “Management” and “Economics”, esteemed experts noted the high level of our scientific school, researchers of which deal with the development of the regional economy and study ways to solve the most common problems in the region. Powerful interdepartmental teams work on research that brings together students, postgraduate students, and scholars under the auspices of the university administration. We have something to be proud of, because we are becoming better not only in Ukraine, but also in Europe.”

Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Acting Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Robotics Volodymyr Pents: “I am pleasantly impressed by the level of achievements that our university demonstrates today. Thanks to the coordinated, friendly, daily interaction of the head of the university, heads of all departments, scientists and lecturers, we can say with confidence – the youth believed in us, becoming our students. And we will do our best to support their desire to become better and get a quality education. With your support, Volodymyr Oleksandrovych, the management of the institute will undoubtedly cope with any tasks. Therefore, I propose to approve this report and work together on new priority areas for the development of Polytechnic.”

Doctor of Architecture, Head of the Department of Architecture and Town Planning Vadym Vadymov shared his pleasant impressions of the changes that daily take place at the university and recalled the largest projects of the Poltava School of Architecture.

Liubov Shumska, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Director of Poltava College of Oil and Gas, also offered to approve the report: “It is nice that our college has found its own niche in the system of higher oil and gas education. After all, operating in the structure of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, we have every opportunity to move in the same direction with the university. This is an invaluable experience and a unique chance to gain the best in the field of creation and implementation of projects and cultural, educational and scientific spaces, locations. Having good results today, we thank Volodymyr Onyshchenko for his support. We express our respect and sincere admiration for the tireless creative potential and determination of the leader, who, despite many areas, continues to take care of oil and gas education. Knowing about the huge number of projects started with business, I know – this educational direction will definitely develop in the future. I approve your report and wish you further success!”

The report was approved by Yurii Holik, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Head of the Department of Electricity Supply and Heat Power Engineering, who told the audience about the opportunities that the university has as a powerful scientific and educational center of Poltava region.

Olena Stepova, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Head of the Department of Applied Ecology and Nature Management, added: “I would especially like to note the support for the development of student research activities, since following the results of victories at national and international competitions, we are among the best universities in the country. A clear indicator of this is the large number of winners of intellectual competitions in “Ecology” and “Environmental Protection Technologies” specialties. I wish you inspiration and tireless conquest of new heights!”

Following the discussion, the rector’s report was approved.

The meeting ended with the presentation of state awards, charters of honour, diplomas, and certificates of scientific titles conferment to university staff.

Polytechnic scientist – Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Serhii Pichuhin was awarded with the presidential award.

26 staff members were awarded Diplomas of the University, scientific and pedagogical staff received certificates of academic title and diplomas, two scientists were awarded with the honorary title of “Honored Worker of the University”.

Poltava Polytechnic staff was congratulated by the Poltava Academic Symphony Orchestra led by People’s Artist of Ukraine Vitalii Skakun, soloist – Honored Artist of Ukraine Viktoriia Yahidka. The welcoming concert was led by Honored Artist of Ukraine Tetiana Liubchenko.
