The meeting was joined by the members of the Council of Rectors of Kyiv Higher Education Institutions Center, the heads of the Councils of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Odesa, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia, Zhytomyr, Dnipro, Poltava, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Svitlana Danylenko, the General Director of the Directorate of Higher Education and Education of Adults of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Oleh Sharov, the Head of the State Agency of Education Quality of Ukraine Ruslan Hurak.
The main point of the agenda was the peculiarities of enrollment and the beginning of the 2020/2021 academic year in terms of the pandemics. A special attention was paid to the problems of ensuring the State Order and the action plan for the education institutions in case of lockdown extension. Important and relevant questions of all the higher education institutions of Kyiv region and Ukraine were discussed as well.
Serhii Shkarlet described the key tasks for the higher education field as of today and assured the participants of the meeting that all the questions discussed will be answered.
According to the results of the discussion, the Council decided to submit recommendations on reviewing certain algorithms of the enrolment campaign, renewing financing in the amounts determined by the Law of Ukraine “On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2020”, in particular concerning the support of scientific research, expenses of higher education institutions, changes in the distribution of finance to higher education institutions to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
