In order to popularize the achievements of the famous scientist and inventor of Poltava, after which the university is named, Polytechnic took active part in organizing and holding the presentation of a new touristic route. The monument to Yuri Kondratyuk has already become a kind of symbol of Polytechnic among students.
“Today, we have yet again honored this unique personality, a person who performed the calculations for the flight to the Moon, whose dreams were brought to life in the 21st century,” the author and the developer of the route, the leading specialist of Poltava Museum of Aviation and Aerospace Vladlen Orlov.
The procedure of the copyright formation for the new touristic route will take approximately six months, but we can be sure of the historic importance and the future popularity of this idea of the touristic map of Poltava.
The guests were greeted by the Deputy Head of the Committee of Tourism, Culture and Innovations of Poltava Trade and Industry Chamber, the Director of the Education and Research Institute of Finance, Economics and Management Iryna Chernysh: “We are proud of our university being named after the famous Poltava citizen. I am thankful to everyone who joined the process of creating it, and we are glad to be a part of the new touristic route. I hope that the pandemic will soon allow to welcome tours at Nadiia Kocherha National Museum of the History of the University, where the scientist’s personal belongings and the watch from his house are kept. The Vice President of Poltava Trade and Industry Chamber Volodymyr Onyshchenko thanked the guests for their interest in developing the cultural heritage and the love to the history of our town.
“You can have a different opinion on historical events, but you have to respect the history of our region. Yuri Kondratyuk’s name was written in the history of science and space exploration, and this fact cannot be disputed. Thanks to the interested participants, we are opening a new route which will attract tourists and the history lovers of Poltava under the aegis of the Committee of Tourism, Culture and Innovations of Poltava Trade and Industry Chamber. Thank you for being with us and believing in our joined projects and ideas,” he emphasized.
The private companies of Poltava region who joined the initiative of the Committee of Tourism, Culture and Innovations and express support and promotion were awarded with commendations of Poltava Trade and Industry Chamber.
