According to the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 1179 of November 5, 2021 "On holding the All-Ukrainian competition of student scientific papers in the fields of knowledge and specialties in the 2021/2022 academic year and amending the appendix to the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine of 24.11.2020 No. 1457 National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" is a base institution of higher education for the second round of the All-Ukrainian competition of student scientific papers in the specialty "Ecology".
To organize and conduct the second round of the All-Ukrainian competition of student scientific papers in the specialty "Ecology", the Field Competition Committee in the specialty "Ecology" was created, for consideration of which students submit their scientific papers. The field competition committee includes outstanding scientists, academic workers of the Department of Applied Ecology and Nature Management as well as representatives of other higher education institutions.
To participate in the competition, it is necessary to send the papers of the winners of the first round of the All-Ukrainian competition of student scientific papers in "Ecology" by February 15, 2022 to the e-mail of the Department of Applied Ecology and Nature Management eco.poltntu@gmail.com and in hard copy to the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic": 36011, Poltava, Pershotravnevyi ave., 24.
The competition will take place in two stages:
- the first stage – March 16-17, 2022 – a scientific and practical conference on the defense of student scientific papers;
- the second stage – March 18, 2022 – summing up, announcing the winners.
Topics of the presented scientific papers cover the following issues:
- assessment of the state of bioresources and development of biotesting systems;
- assessment of phytotoxicity of soils and their fertility;
- development and improvement of the environmental monitoring system;
- modeling the impact of natural and man-made factors on the state of ecological safety of objects and territories;
- wastewater treatment and air emissions;
- processing of household and industrial waste with the receipt of valuable substances;
- water quality assessment;
- environmental food safety;
- analysis of the impact of anthropogenic sources on the state of the biosphere;
- study of landscape and ecological structure of the regions of Ukraine;
- energy saving issues.

Every year scientific student papers come from more than 70 higher education institutions of Ukraine. Last year, the All-Ukrainian competition of student scientific papers in the specialty "Ecology" received more than a hundred of them.
It should be recalled that scientists and stakeholders named the eco-professions of the future, and the university was awarded the "Ecooscar" for significant achievements in the ecological transformation of the state, business and society.
