People's deputies get acquainted with the process of preparing the university for the new academic year

On July 21, People's Deputies of Ukraine – members of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Education, Science and Innovation: Yuliia Hryshyna, Volodymyr Voronov, as well as People's Deputies of Ukraine from Poltava and Kharkiv regions – Andrii Bobliakh and Oleksii Krasov, together with the head of the Poltava RMA Dmytro Lunin, visited National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" to get acquainted with the process of preparing our university for the new academic year.

We visited the shelter, saw infrastructural solutions and discussed plans to improve conditions in shelters.

"I thank the People's Deputies of Ukraine for their deep interest in the development of Ukrainian education and visiting one of the leading Ukrainian universities – National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", we gladly shared our work and experience!

In the conditions of the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, in the conditions of a full-scale war, we are doing everything to create proper conditions for students to study at home – in Ukraine, without going abroad, so that later, with the help of the acquired knowledge, we can rebuild the destroyed infrastructure, provide energy security of our state and do everything for the further development and prosperity of our country.

Given the difficult conditions, we, first of all, pay attention to strengthening the security infrastructure for students. The preparatory process continues under the slogan " Safety above everything else" because, as I have already mentioned, the university plans to start the educational process in an offline format from August 15. We are currently improving the conditions of stay in shelters.

A unique case of cooperation between the university and business gave particularly high results during the war – even despite the crisis, we continued to repair and modernize the campuses. Today, business invests in the development of the material and technical laboratory base, creates conditions for high-quality acquisition of knowledge and practical training by students. During their studies, students are actively engaged in scientific activities, research that takes place at the university is brought to the state of an innovative product, which is later commercialized. In this way, the university receives additional income and this is the basis for further development.

Poltava Polytechnic is an innovative university that opens up new opportunities for its students! Together we work for Victory!" – commented the Rector of the University, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.

During the campus tour, the parliamentary delegation visited the modern laboratories of the university, in particular, the Siemens educational and research center, where the Starlink satellite communication system is installed. The university recently received it and is already actively using in the educational process, a robotics laboratory, an innovative laboratory of psychodiagnostic as well as correctional and developmental work.

"Today we visited one of the most modern universities in the Poltava region. Together with the people's deputies, we considered the possibilities, came up with new ideas and visions for the development of the university. I want to say that today we had the opportunity to see modern classrooms and technological laboratories. We understand that even during the war at this university, students will be able to obtain quality knowledge, study offline on up-to-date equipment, which will enable the higher education institutions to train leading specialists in 92 fields," – commented the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration Dmytro Lunin.

Parliamentarians also visited the People's Museum of University History and met with representatives of the Student Parliament at the Center for Culture and Student Creativity of the Poltava Polytechnic. Artem Loik, a well-known rap artist, graduate, and now head of the Center for Culture and Student Creativity, presented a joint project with students of the Polytechnic.

"Today, for the first time, I paid a working visit to the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic". Despite the fact that there is a war going on in the country, the university is working, the admission committee is working, there are students in the institution – the university is living its active life, preparing for the new academic year. Today, a lot of attention was paid to how the university is preparing to comply with safe conditions for study and work. The university has an excellent bomb shelter, in which more than 450 people can hide at the same time. The university is actively preparing for offline learning with an additional possibility for students who are abroad or are internally displaced persons to participate in the classes in a distance format. Poltava Polytechnic has an excellent material and technical base, actively develops, uses modern technologies, contains a large number of present-day laboratories and, importantly, cooperates with business. Such universities have a great future in our country, and we will help them in every possible way," – said People's Deputy of Ukraine Yuliia Hryshyna.

On the eve of the working visit, educators, regional leadership and people's deputies determined the peculiarities of the new academic year in the Poltava region, and also opened a modern multi-functional sports ground.
