Partakers of the Poltava Chess Gymnasiade were greeted by the Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava City Council Ihor Kyslov, who noted the excellent conditions for the competition; Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports Lina Rybalko, who wished participants victory and sportsmanship along with conveying congratulations from the head of separate subdivisions of the NGO “Student Sports Union of Ukraine” and the NGO “Ukrainian Federation of Student Sports” in Poltava region, rector of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.
The Main Judge of the competition is the President of the Poltava Regional Chess Federation Hryhorii Shcherbov. He announced the competitive conditions, wishing participants interesting chess combinations and worthy opponents.
Students of almost 20 Poltava schools (schools №2, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 14, 22, 24, 25, 26, 28, 29, 34, 38; lyceums №1, 3, 6, 33) compete at the chessboards. Among the participants are the winners and prize-winners of the III Gymnasiade of Poltava Region, in particular the multiple champion of Poltava and its region, the winner of the Ukrainian Chess Championship among juveniles under eight Taras Rudenko, who plays all kinds of chess activities, Murad Babaiev, Nazar Zaporozhan.
The awarding of the winners according to the results of the competition will take place on November 30 in the Sports Building of Poltava Polytechnic.
