As part of the agreement on scientific and educational cooperation and partnership between the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” and Lyceum №17 “Intellect” of Poltava City Council students and teachers of the lyceum have visited the university. They attended numerous workshops, interactive classes, visited international languages centers, became listeners of informative lectures by experienced scientists, and got acquainted with the exhibition of works by the Honored Artist of Ukraine, the famous Poltava resident Mykola Pidhornyi, whose masterpieces are exhibited at the Center for Contemporary Art of the University. The guests were given tours around modern scientific, educational and sports locations of one of the best universities in Ukraine, scientific and pedagogical staff of various educational and research institutes and faculties of Poltava Polytechnic told them about wide opportunities, prospects of education and successful employment in the modern labor market for youth of the Poltava region.

Research and pedagogical staff of the Department of Finance, Banking and Taxation of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law conducted a master class on financial literacy for students of the mathematics class of Lyceum №17 “Intellect”. Lyceum students gained practical financial skills and practiced the acquired soft skills while performing various interactive tasks prepared by scientists of the department.

Oksana Vovchenko, a senior lecturer at the Department of Finance, Banking and Taxation, interested the audience with a gamified approach – students actively guessed financial puzzles and riddles, team-wise remembered the appearance of banknotes and learned to recognize security features on modern ones.

Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance, Banking and Taxation of Poltava Polytechnic Liudmyla Svystun conducted an excursion for students to the unique Museum of Money and cheat sheets of the department. The presented exposition includes unique banknotes from more than fifty countries of the world. Listeners were fascinated by the history of money and their varieties. Lyceum students actively asked questions, and the visualization of what they heard was a great guarantee that visits to the museum will definitely be remembered. Of particular interest for future students became the acquaintance with the collection of cheat sheets – the ingenuity of the authors in creating individual “art samples” impressed visitors with inexhaustible imagination and creativity.

“Our department already has a number of established educational traditions, including the collection and systematization of exhibits for the Museum of Money, initiated by the joint efforts of scientists. After all, based on my own experience, I can say with confidence – such excursions are extremely interesting for Poltava youth, and junior students. They like to look at the presented samples and gain some practical knowledge. Our master class on financial literacy was aimed at helping students navigate the modern world, learn more scientific facts about the origin and history of money, individual national currencies, and recall the features of banknotes, some elements of which you often do not pay attention to. Knowledge of different levels of protective coating of banknotes will help lyceum students to avoid annoying situations and fraud in the future,” – commented Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance, Banking and Taxation of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Liudmyla Svystun.

At the end of the event, the participants took memorable photos and exchanged positive impressions from the visited master classes and interesting excursions around the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.

Previously, members of the scientific club considered the financial mechanisms and consequences of monetary reform in Ukraine, and future marketers discussed strategies for creating and promoting brands.
