National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" – one of the best multidisciplinary classical universities in our country, has acquired the status of a member of the European University Association (EUA) – an extensive network of European universities that provides a forum for sharing experience, participating in research, events, and influencing political decisions.
It is worth noting that EUA supports the leaders and teams of leading universities, creating partnerships and offering modern educational cases that contribute to the strategic development of higher education institutions. Therefore, the experience of such membership opens up new scientific and educational opportunities as well as broad prospects for the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic".
In particular, member universities of the Association are involved in solving a number of European issues, about which leading institutions of higher education receive information from the official website of the European University Association (EUA). First of all, this concerns the EUA Strategic Plan "Europe’s Universities Shaping the Future – EUA Strategic Plan" and the main document "Universities without walls – a vision for 2030", which are being discussed among the current members of the Association.
“I ask you to encourage academic and management staff to join EUA's expert groups and projects, and participate in our numerous conferences and forums. Excellence is spreading in the university sector across Europe and we will be stronger if we use all our commonalities and diverse ideas.
I look forward to working with you to promote higher education and research partnerships in Europe. I sincerely thank you for joining the voice of European universities," – said the president of the European University Association (EUA), professor Michael Murphy, in a letter addressed to the Poltava Polytechnic.
Note that Association membership is institution-wide, so Heads of Administration, Research, Communications and International Relations will also receive EUA updates and are encouraged to collaborate with the Association team.
It should be recalled that the European University Association (EUA) represents more than 800 universities and national rectors' conferences in 48 European countries.
The main mission of EUA is to promote the development of a harmonious system of European higher education and scientific research work by providing active support to its members as autonomous institutions in developing the quality of learning, teaching and research.
The main work priorities of the organization’s members and EUA are formulated in the annual plan of the organization. These include:
- building the European Higher Education Area within the Bologna process;
- research and innovation;
- internationalization of higher education and research;
- improving the quality of European universities’ work;
- appropriate management, autonomy and stable financing.
EUA provides opportunities for members to share best practices by participating in mutual learning projects and activities involving a wide range of universities.
The Association represents the views of universities and advises the European Commission on various research strategies, and works closely with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Council of Europe and UNESCO.
It should be recalled that earlier at the Poltava Polytechnic, an innovative children's space was opened as part of the second stage of the Center for Education and Care of Preschool Children Mr.Leader, and a workshop dedicated to the continuity of education from kindergarten to higher education was held at the university.
